I purchased 2 external USB 2.0 harddrives with enclosures to transfer data to a new internal harddrive in my computer and for backups. After less than 6 months both of these drives fail, things happen i get it. Calling tiger direct I was told they dont deal with the merchandise they sell and to contact seagate with my problems. After logging into their site to get an RMA for returning the drives i come to find out that only 1 of them was still under warranty... they warranty their drives for FIVE years where was this drive for 4.5 years before they stuck me with it? I have no idea other than finding out the drive was refurbished i figure they just kept reselling it over and over to unsuspecting buyers that thought they were getting a new drive. I even made a second purchase from them in august of '06 before finding out they employ a revolving door policy with regards to fraud and misrepresenting what they sell as new when it's been used and abused for years before being dumped on us the consumers. I will be contacting the atty general in minnesota and doing everything in my power to ensure they never do business in the state of minnesota again!
