| marklafferty's Full Review: Comfort Inns and Suites |
My wife and I recently went to Disney World for our honeymoon. We drove down and back, about 1800 miles round trip. We decided that for the return trip we would make no reservations anywhere to stay for the night. We ended up getting tired around Columbia, South Carolina and decided this looked like a nice town to stay in. We didn’t get to sight see very much but we did like what we saw of the town.
We find the first exit and go for a name we recognize, Comfort Inn. The check in went very fast and the counter person answered all questions we had. Our room was basically across the outside hall from the lobby but she directed us to a closer place to park, which allowed us to unload the car quickly.
Our room was a basic hotel room in size. It contained a 27 inch TV, a king size bed, and a Jacuzzi tub.
Room Condition
I did my normal once over of the room before I unloaded everything from the car. The bed was well made and the sheets and comforter showed no signs of being unclean. The carpet appeared to be clean with only minor fraying near the door. The closet was clean and contained a coffee maker and an iron and ironing board.
The bathroom was very clean and contained the usual array of soap, shampoo, and conditioner. I rarely use the toiletries provided but I do like to see that they are there. It makes me feel like the hotel cares for the consumer. I know this is a naive thing but I live in my own little world sometimes. A hair dryer was also provided.
Entertainment
The TV provided is nothing fancy but is large enough to see from the bed with no problem. The cable provided has all the networks plus premium cable with HBO. I am the type that rests at the end of the day watching a few minutes of TV so I like to have a decent selection to flip through.
The pool is clean and well maintained. It is not large but is large enough for you to get in a nice swim or to just lounge around.
Relaxation
The ability to relax in this hotel is enhanced by the Jacuzzi tub. Laying in this relaxing tub for 20 minutes will remove all of the road travel tiredness from you and allow you to sleep a nice restful night.
Overall
This is one of the nicest mid range hotels I have ever stayed in. The only problem we had was the fact that we had to call to get them to turn the air conditioner on.
