The Bottom Line I recommend "Meet and Greet" for all members of Epinions who are able to attend. Everyone should experience this very positive member interaction.
I just wanted to share with you all what a wonderful experience I had at Epinions first ever "Meet and Greet"! How I Found Out On June 5, located in our Epinion's Member Center, there it was, a posting that was calling me to attend! It was an announcement that there will be a "Meet and Greet" in Orlando on June 28, Saturday, with more details to come. It was to be the first of a series to come, concerning the "Meet and Greets". More details were posted on June 10. That it would be at the Hyatt Hotel in Kissimmee, the hours, the food, and a link to RSVP. This particular Hyatt was only 7 miles down the road from my house. How lucky was I? (concerning convenience). When I read that I immediately RSVP'd. June 16 had two more posts. One was to let us know children were invited. The other was to nominate the next city for this event to take place. Getting There This June 28, Saturday, was a very busy day for me. It also happend to be the last day (of 3), of the Ebay Convention that I had been attending here in Orlando. So happens, on this evening I had one choice to make out of the two events I wanted to go to. Either stay at the ending party for Ebay that started at 6:pm, or, go to Epinions "Meet and Greet" that started at 6:pm. I chose Epinions because it meant more to me, truly. Also, I had already given my word I would attend. I try very hard to never back down on my word. (a life long goal). I drove straight from the Ebay Convention at the Convention Center to Epinions "Meet and Greet" at the Hyatt. I thought I allowed myself enough time, a 1/2 hour drive, but..... I ended up being late by about 20 minutes. I ended up in the wrong building at the Hyatt, circled around twice, looking for my fellow Epinionators to no avail. Finally, I got the help of the front desk clerk who advised me I was in the wrong building. When I did reach the right building, I circled around a few times there too. You know the scene, anyway.... I was 20 minutes late, and embarrassed. I hate to be late! :) Finally Finding And Entering the Hyatt Meeting Room. When I entered the room I was happy and very excited. Lets call it anticipation. I was promptly greeted by hand shakes by Alexis and Garrett. They made me feel so comfortable almost immediately. I saw three circle tables that seated about 7 each. There was only one table occupied, and, I made the 7th on that table. Whew! Everybody let me ramble on for the first five minutes (theres no telling, I probably jumped everywhere in my speaking). Anyway... I immediately recognized Chrisceb due to reading many of her beauty reviews in the past and recognizing her profile picture previously. I also met Kristinafh whom I didn't recognize at first, but did remember her from reading a few of her reviews in the past that are very good. I also got to meet Meleahk for the first time. Eat, Drink, And Be Merry! We had a small group that ended up only needing one table. This gave us Alexis and Garrett all to ourselves! Our dining pleasures consisted of Corn Clam Chowder for starters, Caesar Salad, Our Entree' choice of three (Chicken, Salmon, Filet Mignon), and dessert with whip creme with berries and some type of sweet breading with it. I think I might of missed out on any appetizers due to being late though. I chose the Filet Mignon that melted in my mouth like butter, anyway...... Conservation was most pleasant with our two top important people. It went beautifully and smoothly. We talked about the current and future of Epinions. We talked about our Epinions website and possible enhancements for the future. We talked about our community. Yes, we have a great community! And what we can do to keep us all a community. I was into it. We all shared ideas and brain storming. It was a good thing. The personalization was definitely there on this night! I also did enjoy our refreshment bar supplied as well. I had two glasses of Cabernet that was perfect to this atmosphere (to me). I tremendously enjoyed the charming company, conservation, and the food. In Closing Thanks for letting me share with you all my thoughts and experiences on this event. I have a couple of notes. Note 1: I feel we got dinner because there was not an outcome of attendance as previously anticipated. So, this allowed the Epinions budget to provide our small group dinner, instead of the original planned appetizers. Note 2: It is leaning on New York City for the next "Meet and Greet". But this is still pending and not yet confirmed. (Still waiting for more results & feedback). It could possibly have a twist and possibly change. We will finally find out when it is posted in the Member Center. Thanks everybody for stopping by. I am open to any comments. :)  |
