Fun for Kids, Bad for Parents

Written: Jul 30 '01
Pros:Cheap nightly rates. Great Aventure Dome.
Cons:Customer service is lacking.
The Bottom Line: If you are bringing your kids to Vegas they will love this place. If it's a parent's getaway or a romantic weekend you might want to go some place else.

Let me start off by saying I have three kids, but they did not come with my husband and I on this trip. If you are a parent trying to get away for the week or weekend this is not the place you want to go. Apparently, this is the place everyone with kids (that don't want to watch them) stays. If you do have your kids, they will love it. I just can't imagine taking my kids to Vegas with me, if I don't have to.

For kids, they have stages with performers, clowns everywhere, all sorts of games, and the Adventure Dome is great. For little kids it might be a bit much, but for kids over the age of 7-8 (really depends on height) they can ride awhole bunch of GREAT rides. The best thing to pertain to kids is......They have a McDonald's by the stages. As, all parents know, McDonald's is a kids favorite place to eat. It also helps the adults who want coffee in the morning, if you get room service it's $15 for a pot and $2.00 for a big cup at McD's. They also impressed me by having tons of security around at all times of the day, so if you do bring the kids you will feel a little bit better knowing this.

For the adults, there is plenty of gambling (imagine that, gambling in Vegas) and some really great resturants. While there we ate at The Steak House (the best in Vegas) and The Pink Pony. I have read on several sites about bad food at the Pink Pony, with it being the only resturant in the hotel open 24 hours we ate there a lot. Everytime we ate there it was very good. It is something like a Denny's and is not expensive.

The rooms are a little loud, really bright colors and all, but are nice and fairly large.

I also should mention that Circus Circus is on the end of the strip, which makes it easy when walking or exploring. That way you are already at one end, and just have one way to go.

Now, for the bad. Housekeeping is a little demanding at Circus Circus. Even if you have the Do Not Disturb sign up they will knock or call several times until they get an answer from you. Which is a little upsetting when you didn't go to bed until 6:00 am. If you do get a cheaper room, get ready for a hike. You have to go way in the back of the hotel (on foot) to get to a set of special elevators. If you do get a cheaper room, take my advice and get the bell hop to take your luggage. The front desk people are a little rude, quite snippy.

For the price you really can't complain to much, and the good did out-weigh the bad.
