I got this kit to link together two computers and share Internet access between them (I use PPPShar Pro, look for it at www.pppindia.com). I had had good luck with the network cards themselves in the past during previous LAN parties, and I had quickly forgotten about them as they had installed quickly and worked transparently. The NICs included in this kit are cheap NICs, but they still work well.

The hub is another story. It is constructed entirely of plastic versus the metal hub in the Netgear kit. It is also very light, giving it a very chintzy feel. However, it does it's job, even though there are many network packet collisions even when only two computers are connected. Also, like many started kits, the cards support 100Base-T but the hub only supports 10Base-T.
