I felt bad that I had to leave Blondie off my upcoming Write-Off posting but I limited myself to just 3 B groups and they just missed being in 4th. You probably don't have a clue what i am talking about but you will soon.

Re: a fine review! - Thanks for finding that error for me (Reply to this comment)
by JAGUARDOG
You said
"1."jimmy jimmy" was a b-side & not a single, "a quick one" was a single (it did not chart) & "connect up to me" was released as a single but only as the extended version as issued on the lp single or tape cassette album.

2."i'm not the one" was issued prior to the 85 greatest hits on the studio album 'shake it up'"

I fixed #2 as you were correct so thanks for that.

Sorry to say you have your 1st one all wrong.

1 - "Jimmy Jimmy" was on 4 or 5 singles and in fact WAS an A-side and "A Quck One" was in fact a single it was on the B-side of one of those singles Imported from Canada on "Geffen" records #9627 in 1989 and both songs were on his Debut solo album also on "Geffen" in 1982 titled "Beatitude".

2 - "Connect Up To Me" was on this same album as well as being on 2 singles of which it was the B-side of both "Jimmy Jimmy" and "Something To Grab For".

I have included a list of ALL the Records I could find done by "The Cars" and also any records of them as solo artists to include some Imported records into the review in BOLD.

This review has the most quotation marks I've ever seen. I just had to say it aloud.
Couldn't help myself

Yes they had a great 10 year run from 1978 to 1988 and a few great albums. Thanks for your comment Patti and I am glad you liked my review of them (beep, beep)!

I loved The Cars in my teen years. You Might Think was one of my favorite songs - that album was one of the best ones put out that decade.

Re: First Pat Boone and now you! - Swing at something different? (Reply to this comment)
by JAGUARDOG
Well I hope that's a good thing? BTW I did do "Blondie" who is also New Ware on 21 June and I also went way out on a limb on 21 February and did "Devo". I have a few more tricks up my sleeve for later in the year as well so stay tuned, to the same "Bat Time" and same "Bat Channel" okay?

First Pat Boone and now you! (Reply to this comment)

This morning one of my more tormenting relatives gave me a CD as a gift. "Something you will really appreciate" I believe were the words. To my disbelief it was a later recording by Pat Boone comprising totally of hard metal music!

Just when I thought that things couldn't get any weirder I find that my ol rock and Roll buddy JAG turned new wave over night.

Fortunately reading your foray into new territory was far more enjoyable for me than my experience with Pat Boone. Good on you for having a swing at something a bit different.

The Cars! (Reply to this comment)

I love The Cars. When my mom was a teen, she used to go and see Benjamin Orr - he was in a group called The Grasshoppers, at some teen dance thing in the 60's. Benjamin Orr was from our area, which would explain his local band participation. I just saw one of his solo videos yesterday on VH1 Classic and am sad that he died.

I am going to write one of these on Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles soon - I want the whole world to know more about my favorite groups!

I really enjoy all of your essays!

I will be covering many more artists in the future from the 70's & 80's it's just that most of the stuff I own is 50's and 60's. Here are some I will cover sometime down the road you may like "Eric Clapton", "Phil Collins", "Alice Cooper", to name just 3.
