Thanks Barbara, it's appreciated since I know my Trek reviews generally have less hits than the others. I know people are tired of them, but it's a part of the enjoyment of the site for me.

I love having her, but I developed an allergy and there's nothing to treat it. I got the shots for dogs & cats but nothing for ferrets. We were told she has pancreatic cancer and I think she's been going downhill since I stopped handling her so much and of course anyone else in the house doesn't take care of her the way I did. I feel so bad for the poor thing.

Thanks for the comment - I will definitely check out your site when I get a chance. (Trekkie/Trekker - either one. I'm not the sensitive type)

Ferrets... (Reply to this comment)
by logimom
I love the little guys. I've had 4 of them in the past 10 years (yup... all at once). Three of them each died of some sort of tumor, and all around age 7 or 8. No matter how well you care for them, they seem doomed, and it breaks your heart. Our vet was so surprised all of ours stayed healthy as long as they did.

I have a page on my website devoted to my beloved critters. Please feel free to stop by and see my beautiful little hams:

Enjoyed getting to know a fellow Trekkie/Trekker (whichever you prefer).

42??? Wow, that's a lot. I think the most I ever managed was maybe 10, and that's if I didn't have the onion rings.

We were at the cow place in Merrick on Tuesday, so we just missed each other :-)

See you at the M&G on the 13th!

Well that explains a lot ;-)

But yes, that was a terrifying moment. I was sure for an instant I had lost my son. I don't think I could have ever recovered from that. I always have given a great deal of credit to parents who do manage to carry on their lives - especially productive ones - after the loss of a child.

Thanks for the comment.

Ugh! Don't like Springsteen? And you're from New Jersey???? That's grounds for being sent to Delaware, I think.

LOL, yes I was a geek-ette in high school. Those arguments trained me well for all these STar Trek reviews.

Hope you are having a terrific summer too!

Well, I don't live in all of it. 3/4 of the upstairs belongs to my parents. And without a basement, well, you can't believe the amount of clutter you accumulate in 10 years.

When it comes to food we are a match. That slice of cow and the onion, I just had it last night.

In a food eatin contest about thirty years ago,I put away 42 "belly bombers", White Castle Burgers.

I don't know if I ever told you how much I enjoyed your New Yorker List. It is sooo on the money. I can relate to so much of it.

but not much. Your writing indicates where you are coming from whenever you write. I did enjoy your sixteen answers - and I can relate to when your child fell down the stairs. My husband used to stand at the bottom of the porch stairs, and Judith (3) would jump, and he would catch her in mid air, and twirl her around as he put her on the ground. Once he had his arms out, and called out "jump" just at the time our neighbor called out to him. He turned his head, and missed her. She landed hard on the sidewalk. I was sure the fall was fatal, but it wasn't. Guess she had a hard head, or there was an angel riding with her that morning.

Ah well, all Star Trek fans can't be perfect ;)

You are just as interesting of a person to me as you were before this interesting essay! The stair incident with your son was indeed scary! Yikes!

Hoping you are having a good summer......

My best,
