I am alone in the desert. There are few roads and even fewer signs. The signs are faded and broken. If I take the wrong road, I am food for the scavengers. The vultures laugh. This has to be one of my shortest submissions yet! I've only written one poem before this and a kid's song. Unfortunately, I gave my only copy to the person collecting the entries and it didn't get published. It was a love poem. I'd love to recreate it.  |
