All done with Amazon. Since the introduction of Amazon Prime, an $80.00 premium service, they expect you to pay to incentivize them to provide you with customer service that everyone else parcels out for free (think Zappos, and if you haven't tried them, be prepared for online shopping the way it ought to be - and no, I don't work there. Try them and you will evangelize for them, too). The dealbreaker for me is their BS shipping estimates (combined with high shipping costs). I just used them to purchase a DVD player and had this experience for (what I've written to them to tell them is) the last time. When I was preparing my order on 3/26, the delivery estimate was 3/30 - 4/3. I was pleased to see an email on 3/27 saying that my order had shipped. It's 3/31, so I checked to see when it might arrive, and now the UPS estimate is 4/5. Excuse me? What do you have to do to a package to make it take a week and a half via UPS? You're certainly making UPS look incompetent with what was probably a dishonest email about the ship date. So, I wrote an email and heard back (from someone in Manila) that the delay was due to bad weather in my area. Excuse me? You mean, too much sun caused this delay? 70 degrees and sunny in VA all week, guys. You'll have to have my memory erased before an excuse like that's going to take hold. Maybe it'd be less costly to just try some customer service and BEAT their delivery estimates rather than exceed them every time. Clearly, they don't care, and so I will use them to check prices and reviews, and then go shop around to find whatever I'm looking for elsewhere.
