My Continental flight was cancelled due to weather in NJ. I immediately tried calling Expedia to rebook by hotel reservation. I was on hold for 30 minutes without being able to reach a live person. I gave up and sent Expedia an email informing them of my weather delays and providing my new flight information and date of arrival. Several days later they emailed me saying they could not assist me via email, and to call on the phone. I was not going to try that again, so I emailed them requesting that my credit card not be charged as I would use a different vendor. However, even thought my delay was due to weather, airline cancellation, and Expedia's inability to answer customer calls within 30 minutes, they still charged my credit card. I have used Expedia before and their website is easy to use. I have never had an issue with their service. But that was because I had never had an interruption in my travel plans. Expedia has demonstrated an inability to handle telephone calls in a timely manner and unwillingness to assist their customers when they experience unexpected delays (when you need them most). I will not use them again.
