I'm glad you enjoyed it. I can recall that, years ago, I had fun writing it. The wonderful thing about the best literature is that it's often the easiest to parody. I don't do cocktail parties any more, but I do still visit a friend who sometimes has a very impressive cockroach in her kitchen.

Thanks for the kind words. Actually, the most time I spent was looking for the ms. There's a file box with the usual trunk novel and tons of various stuff I was unable to sell or complete. I know it's a bit of vanity, but I did chuckle some when I was typing it into Word the other night.

You spent a lot of time on this.
The body language bit was priceless. 40% nostril flares!
And the ending, a la Planet of the Apes, was a nice touch.

The take-offs on the names alone are worth the read. I think I've been at a few cocktail parties that resemble that gathering in my day.
