A few months ago, Pam (phineaskc) had written a review on it. I thought, then (as I do still since reading your review) that it sounded like a great idea... plus a very sensible one, too. Well, I've yet to check on tickets for my son & my trip to your lovely state within the next few months. I'm (like you) a little hesitant about non-paper tickets. However, considering what you've just informed me on the success of the delivery of your own, as well as the aptness of toll-free customer service, it's beginning to look better and better, even as I write this comment.
As always, thanks Barb for another bit of confidence. You get points from me as my own personal psychological/morale booster. :) No small fete, either. A person as stubborn as moi, knows how to "dig in" & hold. Pushing's a bit difficult (ask my mom who's had plenty practice).

I haven't booked any tickets online yet...just that wee bit of mistrust, you know. Alas, I'm realizing after reading your review and hearing from other folks that I'm probably missing out on lots of deals. Oh, rats.

to read about your upcoming visit with Whalewatcher, and also the Cape. Great review about Orbitz - I went on a whale search cruise one time - and it was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. First we watched two adult whales with a baby between them as they dived to pick up plankton, but when the big whale popped his head out of the water not more than 15' from where I was standing on the boat, I was so awe stricken I couldn't click the camera I was holding. What magnificent beasts they are.
I plan to visit Cleveland soon, and then perhaps Idaho to see my sister - and will certainly use Orbitz when I decide on a date. Thank you for your review, and have a great time.

I was just thinking yesterday about writing a review about Orbitz, then decided against it since there are already quite a few excellent reviews, including yours now!!! I love Orbitz and have canned my other travel sites in favor of this one (for air fares). We are going to Maine in a couple of days to visit with friends and managed to get a round-trip ticket from Washington D.C. to Boston for $81, quite a bit cheaper than on any other site. Like you I've been hesitant about e-tickets, but have used them several times now and no problem.
We've also found excellent fare prices to Hawaii for January (I'll be whale watching, of course!), so now I'm hooked on Orbitz! I had to call their customer service department for some clarification and they were EXTREMELY helpful, not to mention that the website is one of the easiest of all travel sites to navigate on, extremely important for a computer illiterate like me.
By the way, there is also a place (click on travel watch) to get foreign currency quotes and purchase currency as well as traveler's cheques with free shipping if it's over $500!).
To make a long story short, I'm hooked on this site!
Can't wait for our meeting in September and hurricanes are not allowed during that time!
Thanks for including me in your epinion, it'll be great for us two whale fans to finally meet!

booking my flights online for two years now and just love it! I will give Orbitz a try next time instead of Travelocity. Those e-tickets are wonderful and Travelocity does not offer that anymore.
