Very well made watch - feels more expensive than it is!

The Bottom Line: Definitely - consider this watch. Well made, and can be worn casually with jeans, or just as nice dressed up for a night out.

I ordered the CASIO Tough Solar watch (model MTP1225-1av) online after much research online and in-store.

The first thing - price.
Target and many other stores had this watch priced at $80.
I was able to get this watch online (Overstock.com) for $32 - a GREAT buy! It arrived at my door in two short days.

Look and Feel:
Opening up the package I almost gasped as I saw the face of this watch as I took out out of the package.
The picture of it online does the watch no justice.
The dial turns out to have a beautifully spun satin grey/blue finish that is very nice to look at.
It also has a mineral crystal that is slightly curved.
The finish is flawless.
This is definitely a mans watch. Its not dainty. It is on the chunkier side, and has a substantial weight to it.
As a result, the watch feels like its made very well and has a substantial feel and look to it.
The black resin/rubber band is very comfortable. I have a size 8 (average sized) wrist for a guy and it latches in the middle holes of the band - so I think it would be fine for most guys.

The watch is very easy to read night and day. It has a built in light that can be set to come on automatically when you lift your wrist to read the time (slick!).

The watch has analog and digital time on its face. It also has a calendar, and battery power indicater in the small LED panel.

Being a solar watch, the watch doesn't need batteries. However, there is a solar battery that does need to be charged. The watch will charge in about 8 minutes and run for almost 6 months (provided you dont use the light much) w/o needing another recharge. When the watch runs low, the LED display will alert you that the watch needs to be charged. Easy enough...stick it under a lamp or leave it sitting facing a bright sun and it will charge up in minutes.

The watch is also water resistant to 100 meters. No worry about getting it wet at the beach or in the rain. :)

Casio has named this the "Tough Solar". Seeing how its made, I believe them!
