I discovered this site largely because, in person, I embarrass easily. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over a year. This requires, among other things, that we need to buy ovulation predicting kits and pregnancy tests. Regularly.
I've tried to buy them at the local discount store. At our local stores, these kinds of things are kept in the same area as condoms, lubricants and yeast infection medications. I've been married over three years but I still find an aisle like that intimidating.
When my doctor first suggested we try using an ovulation kit, I sent my poor husband to find it while I waited safely in the cosmetics. On first grab, he picked up a pregnancy test. Next try, an ovulation kit with only one stick. They are much cheaper if you get the ones with five sticks. By the time we made it through the check out, I was practically trembling. It was then that I vowed to only purchase this stuff online.
A quick search on the MY SIMON website told me that CVS.com carried the products I needed at the cheapest price online.
The website is easy to negotiate and very well organized. They have everything you would expect from an online drugstore. If you don't know where to find what you're looking for, their search feature does not require you to be overly specific for it to be helpful.
Their cosmetic selection is very extensive and even has a clearance section where you just might find that discontinued shade of lipstick.
If you spend more than $35 at the site your shipping is free. Otherwise, it is the very typical rate of $4.95.
My first order was more than two weeks late. I called them to complain and was treated with concern and respect. They sent a duplicate package on next day delivery. When I went to our local post office to pick it up, the person behind the desk noticed that they had my other order. It had been delivered two weeks earlier. They had just neglected to put up a "pick up" slip in my mail box. I had blamed CVS when it was the post office's fault. I felt so guilty that I called CVS. They told me not to worry about it due to the nature of my purchase. I guess returning a pregnancy test is not so cool.
Another pleasant thing about ordering through CVS.com is the little surprises that arrive in your package. With each order they include a free sample and good ones at that. I have received a sample of Tylenol sore throat medicine, a plastic mini duffle bag filled with skin care samples, a sample of children's cough syrup and a couple of small Christmas-themed plush toys. It's almost worth the cost of shipping. Well, not really. However, avoiding the "aisle of shame" is absolutely worth the cost of shipping to me.
