Poor customer service, limited space and high prices made me leave

I joined Homestead a year ago without doing my homework. They seemed like a good choice because they were very easy to setup and I lacked knowledge on HTML.
SETUP
I took the 30-day free trial and started setting up my site. Homestead is excellent for beginners. They give you the templates to choose from and you just type in your information and add your pics and objects. Now as a Videographer, I did not really like the templates they had so I used a wedding planners template. It was by far the easiest website I have ever set up to date. The only bad thing was, it was also my worst looking. Once you pass a certain amount of days, I believe 30, you no longer have free phone service to help you so make sure you set everything up and it pleases you. Nah, just do not use this company. You will see why as I read on.
RATES AND FEES
Here is the main reason I quit Homestead. This company has not evolved to the year 2007. Homestead charges $10 dollars a month for a site with no Domain name (it has.Homestead in the URL) and only 25MB of web space (horrid by todays standards). You have to pay an extra $2 a month for your own Domain name. Mine was www.timestandstillwa.com. Now almost every company going is only $5 or $6 dollars a month with free domains. Here is the kicker; you get 200GB of web space. With homestead you have to pay $5 dollars a month extra if you want phone support. Now with for my $5 a month on Startlogic, I get 24/7 phone support forever.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Well this is another great failing by the Homestead people. I did not pay for phone support so when I messed my site up, I had to wait over the weekend for anyone to write me back and help. I spent a whole day just rebuilding a new website because I did not want to be down for the weekend. Now even on a weekday, I was waiting at least 24 hours for answers. When I went to the homestead site page to cancel my service, it was even a bigger joke. I had to wait for 15 minutes on the phone because for some strange reason, quitting is the only thing you cannot do on the site. Now the guy gets on the phone and trys to talk me out of it. He even tells me my current website that I made with another company is not professional enough. This was a big laugh, because my new site although not a Professional job, was waaaaaay better looking than their simplistic template. I laughed at him and said, "Just cancel me boy".
OPERATION
Now I will say this, my site was never down due to Homestead. They keep things running pretty smooth, but I imagine most companies do. I like the way you can actually see where you are getting hits from on the site statistics page. Hell, it even tells you what kind of operating system they were using. Very cool, score one for Homestead in that department.
CONCLUSSION
I would stay clear of this company unless you like blowing money on tiny spaces with HORRID customer service. They are easy though, and if you find you just cannot figure out how to make an operational website, try them out.
