Ease of Use:
Pros:Many features, easy to use...picture and sound.
Cons:Price, should set up a beginners course for all those features.
The Bottom Line: An outstanding piece of equipment, but a rather expensive toy.
The most accurate one word description that I can give about this system is WOW! This beauty does it all. Viewstation has a display resolution of 352 x 288 and at 30 frames per second the video is perfect!! It really is almost just like watching and interacting with television!
Viewstation is a little costly, at close to 9 grand and definitely more technology than I or most other people need.A rundown of Viewstations' numerous features will show you that you do get your moneys worth (even if you don't use them all).
Viewstation allows point to point or multipoint capabilities, which allows the user to speak from 1 to 3 other people at a time. Echo canceling is an excellent and often under appreciated feature that is absolutely flawless in this unit. The voice tracking feature, which is suppose to point the camera at the person speaking, has a few glitches. The camera is EASILY distracted when using voice tracking and with as much as a drawn out sneeze or some hallway noise can point the camera in an unwanted direction. Address book dialing is my favorite feature and it's great to know they didn't leave this "old technology" out of the picture.
All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase. But a word to the wise would be to also check out the point to point models to see if they would offer you all that you need before jumping to this big guy.
