Clay Rules American Idol Concert in Cleveland, July 23
by bilbopooh | Aug 15 '03
The American Idol concert tour is loud and overrun by squealing teenie-boppers, but it's lots of fun and full of talented performances, particularly Clay's.

Thanks, Amy! I agree, Ruben and K-Lo are also both very talented. I don't want to give up on Invisible yet; the concert wasn't the ideal place to hear a song for the first time with all that aduience interference. I'll probably get to like it more after I can hear it on its own, but something tells me it's going to remain on the low end of the ranking of my favorite Clay songs. I am really looking forward to his CD, in particular the full version of Solitaire.

Have you heard any of the demo recordings he did before the show? I would like to buy the two CDs, but whenever I've tried they've been sold out. My favorite recording of his is Open Arms, which is also the song that started me into full-flung obsession with him when he sang it on the show. I just think the recording is so well done and so dynamic...the transition from the first verse to the chorus gives me shivers.

I went to see the Idols in Atlanta last weekend. I agree with you almost completely. Clay did steal the show. Not that Ruben wasn't great as well, just that Clay really just gave the better performance.

I think if you listen to Invisible without all the audience interference you'll like it a lot better. It is really a good song, at least in my opinion. Can't wait for the cds to come out. Would love to get one of Clay, one of Ruben and one of Kimberly Locke. That woman is amazing too. She has the type of voice that can just give you chills.

Very informative and enthusiastic review.

Whoops! Sorry about that. I didn't know who sang it, and a friend of mine said it was Britney. I'll fix it!

Stacie Orrico sings Stuck, not Britney.

I definitely agree with what you said about Kim C. A total beeyotch, she is.

Great job,
Shilo :)
