| rbinck's Full Review: Glade Plug-Ins Scented Oil Fan |
Introduction
I like having a fresh smelling house even though my wife would prefer a more subtle level than the Glade® Scented Fan provides, I got one anyway.
Description
The unit is attractive with a white body that looks somewhat like a night lite. The way it comes from the factory the fan is above the scented oil container and is best installed in the upper outlet of a vertical outlet. When the outlet is installed horizontally, it is possible to rotate the plug, although that is somewhat difficult.
On the front of the unit is a dial that allows five settings to make the scent stronger or weaker. I found that the lowest position provided ample fragrance out of the unit.
There are two two prong outlets provided in the base so that you don't lose the use of your outlet. I placed mine in my bathroom and used the outlet for my toothbrush charger.
Operation
The operation of the Glade® Scented Fan is simple. You plug the unit into an outlet and insert a small bottle of scented oil. The unit warms the oil causing vapors to emit out of the wick at the top of the bottle. That is in the direct flow path of the fan which picks up the scent and distributes it to your house.
Scents
There are a wide variety of scents available for the Glade® Scented Fan, although I have found a lot of stores will only carry a few. Here are the scents:
Apple Cinnamon
Berry Burst
Clean Linen
Ferns & Blossoms
Hawaiian Breeze®
Lavender Meadow®
Peaches & Petals
Rainshower®
Refreshing Spa
Suddenly Spring
Vanilla Breeze®
Vanilla & Cream
Watermelon Rush
White Tea & Lily
Conclusion
After using the Glade® Scented Fan for several months I can say I have enjoyed the way my rooms smell and having it in the bathroom keeps the rest of the house from getting overpowered by the scent. I have tried about three different scents, Apple Cinnamon, Hawaiian Breeze® and Lavender Meadow® and I like them all.
The only complaint I have is after a while the fan get pretty noisy. Since I have it installed in my bathroom it is not that noticeable in the rest of the house, but if it were where we sit it would be unacceptable.
