In short, I recommend always checking out BAMM's price when looking for books, it is just as good as any of the bigger online book stores.

When it comes to selecting a bookstore online, there are two key aspects I'm looking for.
1) Price - I was looking to buy a copy of the Beatles Anthology as a present for my wife. I used Bizrate.com to search for the cheapest price (more on that later). BAMM came up with the cheapest price, and after I looked into it, it actually was about 10 to 20 dollars cheaper than any other bookstore online. On the other hand, it isn't always the cheapest.
2) On Time Delivery - The book arrived as promised 3 or 4 business days after I ordered it.
Although Books a Million does satisfy these two requirements, it is not my favorite store, for the following reasons:
2) Lowest Price - When searching with Bizrate or MySimon Books a Million will often come up as being the cheapest book store. However, there have been may times where I have searched for books and this has not been the case. Books a Million has a "Millionaire's Club." For a fee of $5 you can be a part of the club. It is the "Millionaire's Club" price, which is 10% off their normal price, that is the cheapest. If you are looking to buy several books than maybe it is worth it, but for just one book, this normally becomes nothing more than a nuisance, hindering your attempt to find the cheapest price.
3) Pop Up - Another annoying thing that some web sites have more and more of is pop up windows. It isn't a big annoyance, but it is there. Books a Million pops up an extra window letting you know about their "Millionaire's Club".
Like I said these aren't things that will keep me from recommending BAMM, but they do keep it from becoming my favorite site.
In short, I recommend always checking out BAMM's price when looking for books, it is just as good as any of the bigger online book stores.
