Pros: small, lightweight, large backlit buttons, works in the areas where I need it to
Cons: tries to connect to the internet when not sure which menus do what
The Bottom Line: I reccomend this phone to anyone desiring a beautiful, well-made phone with many features.

| norolinde's Full Review: LG VX8300 V Cast Music Phone |
I've only had one other cell phone in my life. It was a Nokia that looked and felt like a brick. It also had the durability of a brick. Let's just say that when we took our phones in to the Verizon guys, they looked somewhat horrified and asked if all our phones looked like that (they did).
I got my first phone so I could call my parents to come get me from my babysitting jobs. It worked fine for that, and we would have stayed with T-Mobile but for one reason: I go to college in Vermont. A little town out in the middle of nowhere that doesn't get much cell phone reception of any kind. So Verizon it was (I'm pleased to say I even get decent reception in my room).
The LG 8300 absolutely one blows my Nokia out of the water. I'm a 20 year old college student who doesn't exactly need to be able to text message and get onto the internet on my phone, but the features are there. This phone is much sleeker and nicer than the other phone I had. In fact, there's much of this phone I don't use, but it was buy one, get one free (my mom got the other one). We added my brother to the Verizon plan as well, so now there are five of us.
It's amazing to actually get reception in Vermont, but I suppose this isn't a review about Verizon! My boyfriend's phone is a very cheaply-made one, and I can definitely tell the difference in the quality of phones. The LG 8300 is sturdy when it snaps open -- you can feel it. I love that you have the option of changing the numbers size on the screen. I've kept mine large.
This phone works equally as well for my mother, who is not technologically inclined. Us kids have got her text and picture messaging like a pro!
The only downside I see to this phone is that it seems like the battery runs down quickly every once in a while. I've charged it the night before, taken it off the charger the next day and had it seemingly run down in the course of the day while I haven't used it at all. This might just be an issue with my phone.
