Spiralling inevitably to the grand conclusion, here's another in the series of greatest albums of all time. Or my 100 favourite at any rate!

I'm constantly amazed at how down-beat The Overload is. I think it was mainly Brian Eno's doing though...

Not only do you write vividly, but i'm definitely enjoying the random trivia and explanations you bring, everything from the origin of Radiohead as a band name to the origin of "Shiny Happy People" (which i also love, for which Michael Stipe may look down on me and boo-hoo for him). Nice to see that Idlewild have such excellent taste in picking their own singles, too; in America they only got as far as "a Modern Way of Letting Go", but it seems like for you folk they released the rest of their best as well.

Byrne once wrote a song that sounds like "a downbeat Joy Division"? Okay. That i need to hear.

cheers,
- Brian

Cheers! I'll have to check out your essay as well - my reading of reviews has become really bad of late as I'm very limited as to the amount of time I can spend on the net, and when I am on there I'm usually looking for housing for next year and all sorts of stuff. But I will make a concerted effort!

That's 25 albums that I have. I know what's # 1. And dude, please read my "Secretary" essay. It's what I think my greatest work to date.
