My "Devil's Advocate" hat is off.
Well, feel free to hang it on the same temporary rack where my Cynic's Cap is hanging for now.
There's always plenty of good reason to have doubts about the right thing ever getting done, but sometimes one finds sufficient faith for something SO right and SO worth fighting for that it becomes easy to risk a little potential agony of defeat in pursuit of the greater good that might be done.
Besides, if everything flies to pieces and the organic fertilizer hits the fan (as it sometimes does), we can always grab our well-worn hats on the way out and pull them down snug once again, comfortable that we did the right thing.
As for kudos...
"Thanks. I appreciate it. And welcome back to the fight. This time I know our side will win. "

According to what I'm reading, there are some longtime greats I need to check out.
On the bright side, with either Casey or Dave it's easy to pick a review to demonstrate their excellence: anything they've posted is as excellent as everything else. Go see for yourself and then jump in line (the LONG line) with the rest of their fans and admirers.
Thanks for the time and thoughts.

Two finer examples would be hard to find.
Yup, which makes it hard for me to take much credit for finding them! I keep waiting for people to respond with "well, DUH!"
But for now I'll just say thanks for the undeservedly nice compliments, as well as your RR&C.

Both Dave and Casey are outstanding examples of what members should be and they create the kind of content that should be seen first.
Absolutely. It's rare that the right course of action is both so clear to all parties concerned and so simple to implement. I always feel uneasy when I become overly optimistic, but this time it just seems that too many people agree that this step seems too obvious to ignore.
Thanks for the RR&C, funstomper.

The private response to my nomination of Casey has been nothing but phenomenal. I feel the same about Dave as you do, he's the personification of a true gentleman.
That's what I meant-- there are any number of important folks on Eps who might rate Hall of Fame nods in the eyes of some people, but I can't think of any other two nominations with which *so many* folks would stand and agree, and with which *so few* folks could find honest reason to complain or hesitate.
When taking a test, answer the obvious questions first. Casey and Dave are the obvious answers to "who rates an Eps Hall of Fame nod?"
Thanks for the read, rate, comment, support, fruit basket, erotic scalp massage and Lincoln Town Car. Your response is approaching "too kind," but don't let me dissuade you now.

Hey Brett--
My "Devil's Advocate" hat is off.
Your excellent idea is implemented and so is my full support of it. The high caliber of writing exhibited in this and the other entries I've read, could very well make "HallofFame" the most respected category on epinions. I hope so.
Kudos on a job well done.

I lost my red newbie hat a long time ago, and after having been here nearly a year, I'm hearing Casey's name for the very first time. Just goes to show how some of the most deserving writers often go unnoticed... unless someone points us in their direction. This Hall of Fame is an excellent idea. According to what I'm reading, there are some longtime greats I need to check out.

Dearest Brett:
It goes without saying that I'm in total agreement with your nominations. The twosome are unarguably the finest representatives of dignitaries with dignity I've ever come across anywhere. The private response to my nomination of Casey has been nothing but phenomenal. I feel the same about Dave as you do, he's the personification of a true gentleman.
Thanks so much for the kind words, I was and am just following your lead. I'm into hero worship these days.
Thanks even more for making this a reality. I did want to mention that the person in Brisbane who ran with the idea by creating this new topic heading is Alexis. The woman pays attention and is a true champion of the community's needs. From the wording of the description on the main page of this topic, I'm willing to bet big bucks that those are her words and she personally set up the topic.
Thank you for so much, dear Brett, especially for breathing life into this concept.
