A Personal Story Told as a Dry History Lesson
by briankrakow | Apr 12 '07
Pros: Cillian Murphy. Cinematography. Powerful historical background.
Cons: Reserved directing technique kills the inherent drama of the story. Simplifies too many events.

Ken Loach's heavy-handedness in pushing his political views has been a continuing fault through all his films, and can really turn one off (it does me, even if I tend to agree with his politics).

Excellent review here, though!
