Review:
Few months back, I came across this website when surfing the web. As we all know their ads are literally all over the web. Ill say they do a good job of being everywhere without being annoying (at least not yet to me). Obviously I came on here and tried to read up on them, see what others had to say about them, and saw some conflicting reports.
A month passed and my wife needed a phone so I decided to try them out, perfect opportunity to really scrutinize this site called Wirefly.com, and see what all the hoopla was about.
One question kept coming to mind; if they spend so much energy with web presence, how good can they be at the actual e-commerce part? I set out to find out.
Process:
The website is straight forward and has so many options of phones and plans. I checked out other websites that have offers for phones and if they didnt bring me back to wirefly, they didnt seem to have the same wide array of phones and service plans. I already knew what carrier I was interested in. Im a T-Mobile man, and believe in them whole-heartedly.
OK, now, ordering process was easy, I took the time to look through what the offer they had on the table entailed, looking through their fine print and making notes of the process. Obviously if anything comes free, it has to be paid for somehow and still make money.
I got an easy blackberry pearl that came with a free Bluetooth headset (sweet action). After instant saving and a couple of mail-in rebates, it ended up being free. Paid and started my wait for the phone, email confirmation didnt come in. So I called and was told that I should allow for a day for the processing and then will arrive 2 days from then, which was the two day shipping I had selected. This so happened to be the same way my orders at Amazon.com, and EBay, mysimon.com had been processed; a day or two for processing and then your shipping starts.
Rebates:
Now, to the main reason for choosing Wirefly; cash-back. So I put all my effort into getting the rebates right; my cell phone bills, and all the receipts, and bar codes on the packet. I made copies and sent everything at the post office, just like they asked. I got an email once it was received and received my payment few months later. A long process quite alright, but everything they promised was there, again, when Wirefly said it would, no sooner, no later.
This is one of a very few rebates I have ever taken advantage of. I normally dont deal with rebates, but this was definitely worth it.
Conclusion
Overall, their service and process is good. I came into this experience not quite knowing what to expect, but I must say that I came away with my phone, my ported number and my rebate and everything seemed to be on time. I mean if a company tells you a price and the price is exactly what you pay; and they give you a timeline and the timeline is exactly how long it takes (for shipment or rebates); then I must call that a positive experience.
Right now, I am trying to purchase some other Bluetooth accessories from their site, but still researching the accessories, because they are not mainstream accessories; Another Plus.
