My list, and I'm rightAug 28 '03 Write an essay on this topic. The Bottom Line Everyone has their list, well here's mine. Headed off by Braveheart, after that it's a toss up. I dunno how I can just pick 10 so I'm not even gonna try to put those 10 in order. These are not the best 10 movies ever, just the 10 I like to watch the most. Disagree if you want, but it doesn't get any better than this. I'm gonna try real hard not to give the movies away for anyone who hasn't seen them yet (what's wrong with you people?) Braveheart- Alright, maybe I can put these movies in order. Or at least this one. It's my favorite. Mel Gibson is just awesome as William Wallace, savior of Scotland. The movie itself is really long, but I'm so drawn in by the story that I don't realize it. An epic that includes love, war, friendship, betrayal, failure, sacrifice, and success...pretty much everything. This movie will never get old. Great battle scenes, moving speeches, and FREEDOM! Gladiator- Who hasn't seen this movie yet? It's a great movie that puts you right in the middle of the coliseum in Rome and smacks you in the face with action. Russel Crowe puts on a great act as Maximus, an ex general thrown into slavery. He wants to rebel against the evil Emperor.... i love this film! The Usual Suspects- WOW! After watching this movie you'll be left with a big WHAT THE...!? I enjoy any film with a twist in it, but I never thought I could be thrown so much! I don't want to give away any part of this masterpiece. Just know that this is Kevin Spacey at his best (which is really good by the way...). You'll never guess what happens the first time, and if you're like me, you'll love that. Meet the Parents- How did this movie make it on the list? I dunno, I just laughed really hard. That's about it. It made me feel like I'm not the only guy out there that can't please his girl's father! I felt so sorry for Ben Stiller the whole movie, but that didn't stop me from laughing at him. You'll get so embarrassed for the guy that you'll actually blush for him. If you haven't seen it and need to cheer up, go rent this one for sure. Tombstone- My kinda western. No offense to all the Eastwood/Wayne fans out there, but this movie is just my favorite western ever. It follows Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell...perfect for the part, couldn't have a meaner looking stare), the "retired" lawman moving out west to strike it rich with his brothers and their wives. Along the way, he meets a special young lady, his comrade Doc Holiday (Val Kilmer), and the evil Cowboys. The cowboys eventually draw Wyatt Earp back into the Lawman business and there is a great gunfight at the OK corral. Enough from me already, just want the movie! The Boondock Saints- Not the most well-known of all movies. That doesn't stop me from putting it on my list though! I was so pumped after seeing this film. I mean really, it is just awesome. It revolves around 2 brothers who decide they need to take on the burden of justice themselves. They basically "kill the badguys". There is a bit of comic relief provided, but it isn't necessary, I just love to see them take care of business. Truly an entertaining and bloody movie. The professional- Also known as Leon, a great great movie. The story of a hitman who takes in a little girl after her parents are murdered. The girl wants him to teach her his trade so she can get revenge. She ends up bringing him great happiness and they set out together to get back at the murderers. You'll laugh, you'll sit on the edge of your chair, and you might even cry! Great ending to top off a great film. Ocean's Eleven- Getting back to my movies with a twist in them, here we go...Probably the best cast in a movie that I've ever seen. Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and of course George Clooney as Danny Ocean. Danny Ocean just got out of prison and wants to steal money....a LOT of money from the biggest 3 casinos in Vegas. Every actor in this movie does an amazing job in their role and every Character brings their own funny baggage with them. A great movie, especially the first time you see it. se7en- Many people don't like this film. FORGET YOU! I love it. It is one of the most dramatic performances I've ever seen. It has Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and my favorite, Kevin Spacey. Pitt and Freeman are 2 detectives trying to solve a series of brutal, planned, connected, and downright strange murders. This movie has the sickest and most sadistic character ever, played by Spacey. You'll be left staring at the screen in disguist. great and unforseen ending. Gone in 60 Seconds- Just plain fun to watch. I'm not gonna feed you BS about the movie being a great oscar grabbing masterpiece. But it's got everything I like....Pretty cars, pretty Girls, and a great chase scene. If you haven't seen it yet, just go rent it, you can't regret this one. Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie highlight the cast. ALMOST THERE (maybe some would be on there if I made this list next week) Rudy There's something about Mary Rambo II Matrix Fight Club Replacements Spiderman The Bourne Identity Animal House Billy Madison Happy Gilmore Scarface Godfather Series The Replacements Any given sunday Men of Honor The Sandlot Predator Remember the Titans Indiana Jones series Bad Boys Beverly Hills Cop series Dumb and Dumber We were soldiers Kelly's Heroes The Hunt for Red October |
