zzounds is the best place for ordering gear online, ...if they carry it.
if you're a no-haggle kind of person, it's the best place to buy. sometimes you can haggle with a retailer and get lower prices than what's on the site, but it takes energy and time.
i've ordered from musician's friend online (and i ordered like crazy from their catalog a few years back), and their prices are fair and i didn't have any really bad experiences with them (except one time when someone was supposedly in stock but wasn't and i had to wait).
anyway, great review.
