Pros: Action, GREAT family story, LOTS OF RAPHAEL and NIGHTWATCHER!!!
Cons: Okay monster story subplot thingy, not enugh Mike or Don, Mike's portrayed TOO immature
The Bottom Line: Cut parts should be reinstated. Too short. But I reccomend this to all fans of TMNT or someone who's just getting into it. GO SEE IT!!

I am a huge fan and this movie was made FOR fans BY a FAN.
The turtles are characterized more accurately here, but rely a bit on their stereotypes of Raph being angry, Leo the leader and his 'do what i say' mentality, Mike being silly and Don the geek.
They paid close attention to detail with the boys, their faces express incredibly, the look real. Some shots are so incredible, it's way easy to forget.
Some might gawk at their appearance, the wide wrists, big hands, and funny ankles. This is the closest we've seen on screen to their original look in TMNT #1. They were more turtle, than human. Turtles have wide ankles big feet and the wide wrists, thinner upper arms.
Voicing was dead on perfection. Nolan North, I hope he returns for a sequel. He is the perfect voice for Raph, he's up there with the original movie voice Josh Pais in excellence in performance. Attitude, accent, inflection, and oh you feel his anger. And this IS a Raph movie. (to my delight!)
One thing I really liked, we see their weapons used properly. The animators practice the arts, they played out the scenes to make them real. Brilliant!! We get to see REAL sai, katana, etc work, and yes the sai are made to do what you see in the film. I wont say, you'll know when you see it.
The music was fitting, too bad it's not on cd. We need a SCORE not some crappy pop music soundtrack!!!
They made the movie enjoyable for both kids and adults, there is no blood. I do reccomend you know their ORIGINAL history, not the old toon because it's NOTHING like that. They're dark and serious, it is a serious movie with Mikey's goofiness here & there. Sadly there isn't enough Mike or Don.
Splinter is wonderful. We see his sensei side and a loving fatherly side. We can tell how different he is in both these roles.
Go for the family storyline, not the monster sub-plot. It is a story of a broken family who needs to come together in a time of need and do what they're good at, save the world. Both Raph AND Leo learn some big lessons, we see them grow further. It's great.
By the way, they're 19, not 15 here. They're growing up!
(in the comics they're 35 though!)
