Cons:?
The Bottom Line: Great first computer, great support. Ive had minimum to no problems at all with this BABY!
THis is the first computer Ive ever bought and I got it back in Jan of 2000. I did alot of research, and bothered everyone I ran into or passed on the street to give me their opinions on various computers. The majority raved about Dell. I ordered mine on the phone after picking my choices from their website. The operator was very patient and super helpful for my needs and questions as I was not very computer savy at that time. He gave me honest opinions and answered all my questions. The computer arrived promptly, but even though it was after 5pm, they still delivered it to my apartment and carried it in and he even offered to set it up for me. The set up was easy. Everything is color coded and outlined. Then you just load Cds which guide you through the rest of the process. I was playing Ultima in no time! With my computer I got a free Deskhjet printer which I thought was great! Perfect for school stuff. The processor speed (500) isnt the greatest, but it does just fine. Not too annoyingly slow. I would go with the 17" screen to reduce eye strain. The standard keyboard was good enough for me. All the others are just for looks as far as Im concerned. I have only had to call Customer Support on one occasion, very late at night, but they easily resolved my problem and with much patience and kindness. The standard speakers work fine as well. IF you are looking for a regular, does its job fine, type of computer...Dell is your choice! It does however only have one small slot open, which for some may be a deal breaker. Not for me though.
