The Bottom Line I love Walmart, but Walmart.com has too few selections and the shipping is high.

I am an avid Walmart shopper, but I will admit, since I have moved, I hate going to the Walmart that is near me. I have been shopping Walmart for years and I have used their online site, but I do not find it remarkable at all.
First, let me say, I understand that not every web site can show all of their inventory, but Walmart.com suprisingly has one of the poorest selections that I have seen. Walmart.com has recently redone their site, but I still do not like it. Most of the time there are time outs and error on pages, but since I now have DSL the site is easier to use and navigate. Lets start shopping and I will explain why I don't like the website.
Ok, lets start at the homepage. The homepage at Walmart.com is colorful. That is a plus. The homepage has a search option. This is also easy to use, each department is listed on the home page. Now you are able to see the sales circular online. That is all good and a great advantage. All this can be found on the homepage.
Now, why do I not like the site. While searching long and hard for my sons Nascar full comforter set, I had gone to the local Walmart store here. Of course the drive has to be 30 minutes and a pain, but I was for sure since they had them in Maryland before we moved they would have them here. WRONG! No full sizes at all. My next step is to go to Walmart.com and see if they have them there. Absolutely not. They only show two listings for juvenille bedding when the store actually carries a big variety. This really disappointed me. So my search continued and yes I have just found them this past weekend at a different online store.
As I ventured onto the site to do some more searching I seen that the selection was so limited it is just better to go to the store or even use a different online store which is what I have chosen to do. When you way the pros and cons Walmart.com is a definite thumbs down. I have used them in the past to find matching towels and have had luck there. However, the shipping costs are really astronomical in my eyes.
When you search the different departments on Walmart.com you will find that each department is broken down into smaller categories which does make the site more user friendly. You can shop electronics, video games, home and garden and many many more. But as I said before as you search the site, the selections are so limited it is really better to use another site.
Besides the disadvantage of not finding what you are looking for, the shipping and handling cost are just out of this world. When I ordered my towels on line last year it cost me over $24 for shipping. That is right and let me just say I should have waited for the store to get them in. It would have saved me $4 a towel. A crock if you ask me.
Do I recommend Walmart.com ? Well, if you want to see the sales circular before you go to the store, yes use the site. If you want to find a good selection of items, no do not use the site, plus that and the shipping is ridiculous. Sorry Walmart, I don't mind using your store, but your website needs more improvements.
