Thanks for reading!

You would have such beautiful things to photograph; the windmills are quite photogenic!!

Ciao, Bettega,

We didn't personally see them flooded in lights, but heard from our hotel manager that it's a wonderful sight... we were there during the daylight hours!

As far a feeling "something" for being below sea-level... nope, nothing... I was mystified by the various signs that said "Beware: Below Sea Level Never Pull the Plug out"... of course, my husband is an engineer and I inundated him with questions about polders, ditches, etc. And, not completely satisfied, I did my own research when I returned home.

Fascinating, the Dutch, they are the masters of land reclamation!

Thanks for stopping by,

Regina

Sounds pretty; I always wondered what it would feel like to be below sea level.

I wonder if you feel more pressure, or the air just changes as I would imagine the winds to be a bit more still given that an air pocket might form.

Well written, as always!

Ciao

Hiya Smorgy

Like my blue swimmers, eh? Yup, trying to get that fine body ready for beach season, lol!

Ah, speaking of fine, that was a fun mini-tour of Belgium and then the heart of England! My friend Yoko in London, the one with the "elegant" taste introduced me to Pierre Marcolini chocolates, which are to die for, but cannot find them here, so far... I'm depressed! But, did fine the Ruinart Rose (Champagne), heh!

Cheers!

Thanks, Chris!

I also saw a couple of windmills when we rode the train from Brussels to Brugge. I love windmills, they're so pretty when they wind is moving the sails!

Cheers!

with your delay in the write up... I knew you would be good for it!

There are a few windmills in the lowlands of England around The Wash and Spalding. Not as impressive as in the Netherlands, but not a million miles apart...

Well written review as always Regina!

Bonjour Madame!

Merci for stopping by! I'm still trying to get caught with other members' reviews...

Yes, Kinderdijk, like the tulips in bloom (right now), must be seen... it's so Dutch!

Cheers,

Wow! So, different now... but then again, when you went, because it was not geared for tourism, not many people went? The Visitor's Mill was a nice thing to see... and of course, the little cafeteria near the docks is convenience for getting refreshments!

What keeps hoards of tourists away from Kinderdijk is the fact that it isn't very near Amsterdam... a good thing...Yay! I hate crowds!

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

There was just us, our Dutch/English friends and the windmills--no boat, no visitors centre, no open windmill to view and it was cold.
