Actually, I never called Jessica Simpson dumb. I called her stupid. These are two totally different things. Her ignorance of the world around her, coupled with her complete lack of an appreciation for any substantial work (be it doing her own laundry or merely showing gratitude for her poor lackeys who must wait on her hand and foot) disgusts me.

Additionally, I never called her stupid for her "viewpoint," as you put it; she would have to actually have a point of view in order for this to be the reason for my criticism of her. Jessica Simpson suffers from such an utter lack of perspective that I have yet to hear a substantiated opinion pass her lips. By and large, she just walks around complaining about her boobs being in the way or belching, and then follows this up by asking questions answerable by the average fourth grade student. Her mental prowess is as tepid as yesterday's bath water.

That is why I call her stupid -- but not dumb. If she were dumb, it would be a blessing, because then none of us would have to listen to her flap her spoiled gob.

Wow, I sure do hate it when people call celebrities dumb because of their view points.

Limp Bizkit must die...as must Jessica Simpson (Reply to this comment)
by grez
I don't care if the new single is good or not...any band with Mon Chi Chi for a bassist should be destroyed. ;-)

And Jessica Simpson is the most selfish, lazy, spoiled, ignorant, naive, whiny, mentally retarded fake blonde bimbo on the face of the planet...outside of big fat Anna Nicole Smith, of course. I mean, I can't stand any of these boy bands (or the guys in them for that matter), but I just know that ol' Nick could have at least picked out a girl with brains. Hell, one of his eye-candy-in-hot-pants dancers in his solo videos has more brains in the left side of her ass that his wife. Did you see the latest episode featuring their golf outing? Jessica didn't know what the words "rigor mortis" mean. Nick explained it to her, although he still mispronounced it. Puke. These people should not be allowed to breed.

As for that horrid little fake trollop topping the charts right now...that just testifies as to the ignorance and laziness of the average American right now. If the music challenges a person, most of them will run away from the effort. It's just f*cking gross.

Now I'm just depressed. Damn.

;-)

Rumors have it that Coldplay is putting together a live album

I heard that on their next studio album, Gwenyth Paltrow will be singing on two tracks. That oughta blow. I agree about the new Limp Bizkit song too.

the Maroon 5 song but thankfully don't listen to pop radio. I found the CD for 4.99 and was happy with the results.

Limp Bizkit is horrid.

The Man In Black deserves to be placed in the same breath as the Beatles.

Is that song by Jet "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?" or something else? Just curious.

Anyway, great read as usual. Alot to think about after the read, too. Hmmm...what else can I say? I was going to put some satirical comment, but then you said to be spared....darn :)

We'll definitely miss Johnny and Warren. R.I.P. also to the funny John Ritter.

"Newlyweds" is hilarious. Jessica Simpson is hella-dumb. I'm glad I'm not married to her. It wouldn't last a second. Hilary Duff topping the album charts? Sheesh, where is the world coming to?

Few artists as important and influential as Johnny Cash have left the earth in such a sudden a manner, with so little fanfare. I mean, the guy is one of the major movers of early country music, integral to the mainstream acceptance of Bob Dylan, and produced goth-style music decades before goth existed.

A Pixies reunion?! That just made my Samhain, Beltaine and birthday. :)

I can't stand the Limp Bizkit song. But maybe its just me. And hey, Nickleback is Nickleback. For all that that matters.

Have you heard the single from the group Jet yet? Surprisingly unique. I mean that in a good way.

And, in the spirit of plugging local bands, check out the new releases from Sacramento's Low Flying Owls and Reno's Spotlight Syndicate. Hey, gotta give some love to the bands I know. :)

Interesting thoughts as always. Until later,

Nikita

Another great column as usual... At the start of this one, though, I think it's a bit too narrow to label Johnny Cash as simply one of the best country artists ever (even though it's true). Turns out he's the only person to be have been inducted into the country hall of fame, the rock and roll hall of fame, and the songwriters hall of fame. The influence he's had over every genre of music is astounding. Anyone who doesn't love at least of few of his songs needs to be beaten to death with their own Good Charlotte albums.

Keep up the good work...
