I've upgraded my rating to reflect that little tidbit of juicy gossip.

I thought you were kidding about the low rating... (Alerts just came back yesterday, and I didn't go back over the rating alerts until today.)
I'll have to ask Nirav what hardware they're using at the Los Angeles Meet and Greet!
Or were you thinking about us as the ingredients? (Place matthewn and ginzo in a room. Lock door....)

Sorry about the delay -- alerts have been filtering through Epinions mailers for a few days.
As for which lead: Try the #1 overall "Most Popular Author". (That was his position a few months ago, and I see no reason to doubt it remains the same, but I haven't checked.) I'm still convinced that he wrote his review of some products based on the manual, without checking to see if the product worked as specified (it doesn't).

reason for rating... (Reply to this comment)
by jkkelley
...I looked in vain for a list of ingredients. Those are very important for anyone attempting to make informed buying decisions. If you add an ingredient list, please advise and I will re-rate.

My rating (Reply to this comment)
by prfstars
Dear Arthur,
My rating is an average. While I find some of your comments very helpful, others are merely somewhat helpful. Specifically, I'd like to know which category leads suck. The worst kind of gossip is that which implies bad behavior without naming names. It casts suspicion on everyone. I, personally, have always suspected Megugrrrl of abuse, but that's only because I've seen the way she eats calamari.
I've heard rumors that one or more of the beauty leads abuse eyeliner, but they're unsubstantiated. The rumors, I mean, not the leads.
Should you really be withholding this information from the Epinions community?
Regards,
Melissa

Well I have (Reply to this comment)

a book with the wrong name on it. It used to have the right name but somehow it changed.
I asked that a product be added to sports (the brand is there) and was told they couldn't until they had a cl yet they ask us to suggest products in the member center. They have a long way to go.
I was told by one of the bosses who took away my hats that she would e-mail me the comments advisors/leads didn't like but I've e-mailed her twice for these comments and have yet to hear from her. Yeah, long way to go! jo

Re: Feedbak on your feedback (Reply to this comment)

mobiexcerpts:
"Given the present "blocked by the community" structure, a member should be able to find out if he is blocked by the community."
Just log out & try to view your profile - but you are right, members might like to be informed, because how often do you do this?
I used to do it occasionally to see that the review list looks like to a nonmember. I do it less often now, because my reviews are often still on top (at least in the category in which I'm a TR.)
"Inform users (subject to some version of the regular notification rules) when a review they've rated is updated."
Hm, why not allow subscribing to updates instead?
Whatever. I can see your point, and I would subscribe to updates on some reviews which I wouldn't rate, but there are thousands of reviews I've rated, and I really don't want to manually enter all those even of active reviewers.
...
Try to sort any opinion with more than 200 hits by author, date or rating and you'll see what I mean.
You mean they still haven't fixed that? That failed in Epinion V1 -- at least according to ptieman and Hard_to_Please. I wouldn't know. I'm lucky to get 200 member hits.
"include an indication in most review lists of whether you have rated the review, and, if so, how. (This was in Epinions V1.)"
That feature is missed. But why oh why "Possibly only for [Category] Leads and [New] Advisors"? A MHomentary lapse of reason?
Perhaps. But, as one of the duties of the [New] Advisors is to ensure that reviews are rated. It might require more compute time than they are willing to commit to it, but in the case of Category Leads and [New] Advisors, it goes directly to the responsibilities assigned.
"Re-allow Most Helpful for all members."
Really now, are you out to destroy the Most Helpfulness of my "How to rate MH" essay? HM? MH?
Aye.
"allow members to avoid looking at surveys"
This seems unlikely to happen.
Surely you notice that epinions.com has already decided to force you to look at them by removing the block button from the Merchant Shopper Account profile pages?
(They've just removed the button. Have you tried a variant of your MH review technique?) Once they're moved to the Express Reviews, you can ignore (or probably choose not to see) all of those.
"The suggestion (remind me who made this please)"
This suggestion has been made several times in the past, mostly in private email, by many members, including ed_grover.
The recent and continuing interest in this idea was generated by rich2003dm's essay:
http://www.epinions.com/content_3380519044
ed_grover posted an essay about in response a statement Nirav made in the latest chat:
http://www.epinions.com/content_3494289540
"Abuse: I'm seeing less."
I'm seeing less reviews and less new users too. Think there might be a relationship?
Aye. (Did you write your comment on "National Talk like a Pirate Day"?)

further 'donating to charity' info... (Reply to this comment)

..
you said...
"The suggestion (remind me who made this please) that members be allowed to donate their earnings to charity, even if below the $10/$100 minimum would make members feel they're doing some good, even if they never reach the minimum for distribution."
With all credit to user rich2003dm:

And yes Arthur, I see you have already signed. Perhaps your other readers might care to add their support.
