Crucial Technologies sells nothing but RAM. Crucial is "The Memory Experts."
When I first began putting together computers a few years back, I always thought that RAM was RAM, and so did my colleagues. I never knew how critical it was to have good RAM versus a cheap product that has no name on it. One day we were trying to put together another system, a basic simple procedure. Of course we were using the cheapest RAM we could find. The system constantly gave problems, programs would crash, and the OS would stall constantly while performing everyday procedures. Formatting and installing everything clean never remedied the problem. On a hunch, we decided to try to use RAM from Crucial Technologies. A few days passed, we received the RAM and installed it, and the problems disappeared.
Constantly the computer industry is changing and improving. For those that remember the days of 30-pin RAM, you know what I'm talking about. Currently there are many formats of RAM from 168, 144, and 184-pin, SDRAM, DDR-SDRAM, for Macs, and Sun systems. Crucial guarantees compatibility with their products and users' computers. Crucial has RAM for virtually any system out there. Crucial does not sacrifice quality for quantity. This RAM is high grade and fast.
Their website is very informative and easy to navigate. Off the bat, just pick your brand of desktop, laptop, or motherboard. Then pick your model line then system model and up comes a list of several upgrade choices. A list will come up that displays what are available, listing module size, type (i.e. PC100, PC133), CAS latency, prices, and whether or not it is in stock. If you don't know what some of these terms mean, as I did, there is a "Memory Modules 101" that explains all you need to know.
So people usually figure that a high quality product comes with a high price. Of course the prices aren't as cheap as the generic no name brands. The prices are not bad at all coming in at a few dollars more than the cheap stuff. Crucial even beats out almost all of the brick and mortar stores I've been to, and most of the major online retailers.
Standard shipping comes by UPS 2nd Day. Rush shipping comes from FedEx and weekend delivery is available. And occasionally, Crucial will ship UPS 2nd Day for free. Every time I have order, my order shipped out the next day and arrived as promised. Never have I been shipped the wrong product. As soon as the product ships, Crucial will send an email containing the tracking number.
I've never had a problem with Crucial so I cannot comment on their customer service.
Crucial's prices are low, quality is high, and the applications stretch across a broad number of platforms making it my go-to place for RAM.
