Repiles... (Reply to this comment)
by captaind
Thanks all for your comments!
David - that's what I thought... though if I want to improve my intellectual reputation I'll have to review the heavier stuff... then again, I'd need to go to all the bother of getting an intellectual reputation first, so forget it!! :-D
Ariane - You're never too young to have a happy childhood, so do it!! At least your nephew is young enough to be a useful excuse for you, mine isn't!!
Chris - ah, but you're getting older my friend so you're allowed to reminisce! If anyone says otherwise, they're just being purple meanies...
Milena - funnily enough the humour is usually quiet funny in these books despite their horribleness, though sometimes what's being recounted is just too horrific for even bad taste jokes.

" Deary tries far too hard to be funny, resulting in him often failing."
Gee - I can't imagine why. Take such a brutal culture and let's try to make jokes about it. Hmmm. Didn't go over to well, eh? Guess not.
At any rate, I seriously enjoyed your review, as I always do, you know. :)
Have a lovely evening,

.....Horrible Histories.
I can remember the days I used to read these books and used to laugh at the silliness of it all (which unfortunately was back in the day when I was still a school child)....
Dammit, I better stop reminiscing like an old fart and start acting my age!
Anyhow, thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Despite this one being a little disappointing in the humor department, it still sounds interesting. My nephew is too young for books this legnth yet, but I'd actually like to read them, too. :)

INteresting series! (Reply to this comment)

Now on my list of "Gotta get to these soon." Your reviews make them really attractive to me a person quite interested in ancient civilizations but not with the time to read a Mitchener novel about each and every one of them!
Thanks.
