This POS was a replacement for the lemon that I had, which was a Maytag Neptune (save that for another bad review)
Had the Calypso for about one year now. At times there are odd smells coming from the machine, like rotten eggs.I run cycles through with only water and bleach to help this problem. I then read about MOLD problems with this unit.I want service to come out and clean the unit since I now know it is prone to mold problems and there are places that can't be reached to clean without taking the machine apart. Called Best Buy...what the heck... after all I have a 5 year warranty...well wouldn't you know it, the warranty I purchased from Best Buy does not cover (you guessed it) MOLD...you have to call the MANUFACTURER for that problem. Oh by the way my one year manufacturer's warranty was just up...
-Does not get clothes very clean.
-Do not wash large heavily soiled items in this machine...it will leave sand and grit,lint and animal hair.
-The dispenser for the fabric softener clogs easily and seeps from bottom of dispenser
-Trying to keep the unit clean of nasty odors is a pain in the butt.
There are no redeeming qualities on this unit
