that a somewhat accurate picture of said scene?
Absolutely! I should probably warn my husband, since it's likely to occur any day, now. Or, well, not...........;)

Milli: Yes, yes you are...
(slams door - pounces on Sting)

it's the love of writing and the people that I decided to stick around for (oh, that was stellar writing right there - just left that one dangling in the wind)
and I am looking forward to a detailed SACD review of Sacred Love once you have the chance...

Re: british taco bell uniform
I don't know what the brits make the employees wear, but I worked there back in the day of the brown polyester shirts with the ugly colored strips on the sleeves, and we wore the paper hats to match. THAT is the uniform I will always love to hate...
Thanks for dropping by!

things to do on Epinions til you're dead (Reply to this comment)
by voxpoptart
I agree, the comments and the new reviews to read are the reason to be here. I can also totally understand the sabbatical: i just dropped off the face of Epinions for three days, and already there's several dozen new Epinions to try to read (plus you left some very nice comments, now replied to), and until i start reading them it's easy to think "Aaack! Will y'all please STOP??". And then i do read them, and enjoy them, and remember how glad i am to be here. I'm glad you're here too.
best,
- Brian

I love your writing, I like Sting, and of course there is a special place in my heart for some Taco Hell...I mean Bell dishes. Sometimes I think of the Bell as Taco Beak because of that one urban legend...but, never mind. My son worked at Taco Bell, so when I visited the one just off Trafalgar Square in London, I bought him an entire British Taco Bell uniform as a souvenir. "My mother went to London and all I got was this crummy uniform."
Keep on writing for the love of it. I'll keep reading.

Just keep on doin' what you're doin'. Never stop showing your emotional side and how music moves you, there are too many cold blooded writers floating around here. And never stop challenging yourself to sharpen your skills as a wordsmith along the way.
The money thing.........
When people say 'the good old days' oh man you have no idea. In the first 18 months at epinions, I made over 300 dollars, and well I hardly write here. In the past 20+ months, I've probably made 50 dollars. Back in 1999/2000 it wasn't unusual for writers to make thousands, if not tens of thousands if they put the time in. I'm still kicking myself for not taking a screen cap of ONE review for a Sony DVD player that made me almost 100 dollars, and I never had a title in electronics.
oh well, here's to writing simply for the love it it.

Happy 25! Just wanted to tell you that I had to order my copy of the new Sting - the local disc store was out - probably the first day it was released. But I get it tomorrow! Yeah!
And yes, as a matter of fact, I am going to eat that burrito - and I'm waiting for Sting to ring my doorbell...........:)

Kris - funny you should mention that particular combination:
My wife and I have a deal. If Sting ever shows up on our doorstep asking for her, she's gone...no questions asked. I get the kids and the house, but she gets Sting. (my doorbell date is Meg Ryan...sigh)
thanks for dropping by!

* mmmmm taco bell....
* Sting, sex, you...I think that they all go together.
* I wish that other men worried as much about their sexual performance (oops I meant writing performance) as much as you do...
* I have run out of witty things to say. Except this. (silence)
Much love, Kristina :)

Well..
Once again, congratulations! When I got my first 20, I was ready to shout "I'm the king of the world - whooooooooo!!!"
Just don't let the number of people who have read this embarrass you!! My first General Non-Fictional .. mm.. pieces of writing gathered 10 hits or so. But I'm still thankful for that, people browsing this section usually are the ones that love reading and want to find out more about others at Eps. So you're in the right place.
Andrew.. there are some things you probably know, but just in case you don't: Top Reviewers are getting more money (10-20 cents per review, what a way to earn a million) and more hits. The latter is what actually matters. The way to become a TR is simple - write often and write well (you're doing the second part already, heh heh).. expecially if written this well, it won't stay unnoticed.
Then you would have to constantly make an effort to retain your hat of course. That's about 7-8 good reviews a month, which isn't much really. But that's about the only way to get most people here to read what one writes. Which is why we're all writing in the first place..
Thanks for sharing! I wouldn't dare to live from what Eps brings.. no, no, no, I wouldn't dare to think about it. Unless I were an Advisor in 15 categories... even then no.
I just gotta say it -
I'M A CRAZY STING FAN TOO :(((((
And, btw, when I finish reviewing U2, I'll put my writing pen to Police and Sting, from 'Outlandos d' Amour' through 'Brand New Day'. We'll get more Sting reviews.. I too think it's not fair music so beautiful gets so completely ignored. But then, u know what people nowadays listen to :(
See ya round soon
Oh, and I've only once been to Taco Bell. I love Burger King though :))

I know that I am constantly re-reading my own reviews, never quite believing that the process is complete for anything I write.
You are SO not alone on this one! About 1/3 of the time it takes me to submit a review is the customary "brushing up" at the end. Oftentimes I don't even see a mistake until after the thing's posted! I bet over 3/4 of my reviews show as being updated the same day they were posted.
See ya at 50!

Congrats on #25, Bob! I knew exactly what you meant when you said...
Ive been challenged to think, encouraged to branch out, and also managed to have a great time while doing so
There are some issues that I had never really thought about in depth til I read about them here. It's been an eye-opener, for sure. Great job!
