used this service to gradually add to my grandmother's china. The original pattern had been discontinued for about 40 years, but a company had started making the pattern again. She said it was the only place she was able to find it. It is actually difficult to tell the old from the new, except brighter color on the new. We have to check the stamp on the back of them to make sure which is which, to figure out whether to hand-wash or are dishwasher safe. Someday this lovely set with place setting for about 20 (now) with serving pieces will be mine.
