Where's the performance in Performance Products?

The Bottom Line Great products, and selection....most of it can be found elsewhere, though. The catalog (I'm a catalog nut) is a thing of beauty and more extensive than the website.

Performance Products specializes in several car makes...I receive the Toyota truck catalog from them, and have shopped online too. They really know there stuff...product/application wise. Customer service wise, and speed-wise, they stink.
I have purchased several items, on 2 or 3 occasions, and the shipping time from LA (them) to Washington state (me, formerly) has always been ridiculous at about 3 weeks!
It requires a weekly call to them, to check on order status, and their excuses are always well rehearsed, and insightful ! The long and short of it is, I don't want to wait that long, and most other firms ship to you in 5-7 days. That's reasonable, 3 weeks is NOT! I believe they don't stock too much, instead ordering it from THEIR suppliers, when you order it from them. (Japanese companies call this "just-in-time delivery", I call it slow and a poor way to run a business in this immediate gratification world we live in) This apparently adds several business days to the process, and diminishes the buying experience substantially.
Product pricing, and quality are never an issue with them, and of course the usual shipping/handling fees apply, and are a profitable addition to their bottom line.
