Something I've tried... (Reply to this comment)

I've never tried the Sportsbraider but there is a similar product that is really sturdy. A little hard to get the trick of it, but I was able to use it on my mom's hair after about 30 minutes of fooling around :) It's called the Braidini. I think I bought it at Claire's in the mall for about ten dollars and the instructions are very specific for all types of braids. I'm absolutely horrid at styling hair and I was able to use the Braidini. Sure it came out a li'l crooked but I think with more time I'd get better with it :) But my hair's almost too short to braid so I don't use it very often anymore. I think it came with video instructions too but we never bothered to watch them :p Just thought I'd let you know if you were looking for a better, similar product.

from TV is another waste of money.

Don't they make everything look too good on those infomercials?

Thanks for letting us know the product is another gimmick.

Your right, I might just take that back. I buy all sorts of gimmick products for the hair. I love playing with hair in general. I was just thinking of going down and trying those new cloth looking, long curlers, I think they were called Wrap, Snap and Go.....LOL. Hopefully this isn't the same brand you are talking about.

This reminds me.... (Reply to this comment)

Of the set of curlers I bought at Walmart. You know the kind that is long and rubbery and tells you that you'll get these fantastic curls. I paid about $15.00 for them.

Well, my hair kept slipping and it took me about 2 hours to get a head full of curls with a thousand wisps hanging out - Forget it!

The reason I even mentioned this is: I TOOK the set of curlers BACK to Walmart and told them they didn't work on my hair. They gave me no problems! So, take YOUR French braid maker back. LOL It won't make pretty braids but you won't be out anything (but your time!)

Neat review - nothing like one's own experience!
