Helpful, fun add-on to the Aubrey-Maturin Series

Pros:Great if you're putting the canon down occasionally as a refresher.
Cons:More maps would've been great. If you read ahead, there may be spoilers.
The Bottom Line: Great if you've already started the canon.

If you've read Master and Commander, and are considering attacking the rest of the canon of these great novels, I highly recommend this little book. It will answer many of the geographical questions you may have on the locations cited in the works, and the images are nice.

The work is particularly of interest if you, as have I, occasionally put the works down to leave them for a while. They serve, in a way, as the Cliff's Notes to the books.

I do not recommend "reading ahead" in these chapters, as tempting as it is. While the book cleverly disguises spoilers, you'll be sacrificing much of the great suspense that waits ahead.
