I like pretty much most horror flicks...
Reanimator I did love, didn't know there was an extended version though! Gonna have to go find that sucker.
And damn it, The Others should have gone on this list too.
The problem with lists is that as soon as you hit 'publish', you think of twenty more... oy.
And Daumco my firend, he gets that way sometimes. I've gone a few rounds with him too. I think he just enjoys it, truth be told. heh. I really need to review that CD you sent me too...
You tell em, oh daughter of mine! Wish you were here damn it, I feel like going to a movie. grrrr

Nice list Doc (Reply to this comment)

I pretty much agree with the ones I have seen on your list except, to me Aliens was much more exciting and scary and if you're gonna go all the way back to The Thing, I would add Them and maybe War of the Worlds but then again some of our members parents weren't even born yet.
It's a drag getting old!!!!!
Maybe I'll do a list although, I had a stiff disagreement, with our New Zealand colleague on my Dragon Wing review, which I still think is the best I ever wrote and he rated H.

PS; you musta hated 'Hastngs' huh?

We just finished up the Evil Dead trilogy not so very long ago. I love introducing this one to friends, but most of my friends already are old aquaintences. :D There are plenty of classic horror films, but I've been keeping my eye open for any thing new. My favorite eye too...the green one. :D

How Could YOU? (Reply to this comment)

Leave out Poltergeist? One of my all time favorites!
And The Shining? After reading the book, the movie just didn't do it for me. I thought the book was MUCH scarier.
The Exorcist is usually on top of people's list, but I had read the book which also was incredibly scary, but then there were so many articles on how the effects were done in the movie that I found myself watching the effects. The movie did nothing for me.

Evil Dead ... (Reply to this comment)
by Freak369
The whole Evil Dead series is awesome but the second one will always have a special place in my heart. So many good one-liners and my favorite - when Ash shoots his hand off and traps it under the paint can - the book on to ... A Farewell To Arms".
Great list and I have to agree with you - Alien is the best of the series but II did have some good moments.

the omen (Reply to this comment)

Instead of watching every single Omen flick, I like to watch a double feature of The Exorcist and The Omen, two essential classics about Satan.

Not really sure what I would put on mine but you have a few that I haven't seen... Er... One at least: Premature Burial (maybe House of Wax too--but I think I have seen that one--gonna check it out again though).
Rocky Horror can be fun but only if you have a good crowd to watch it. I have seen it... Well... Maybe a dozen times now and sometimes it is fun, sometimes it isn't. We put it on when I was running the films committee at WSU and that was pretty much how it worked. One night was pretty fun, the other wasn't so fun.
I'll have to check out The Omen again too. Not convinced about it, saw it once and didn't really dig but I have been meaning to give it another shot.
