The Bottom Line Unless you can wait for a part that may or may not show up, try another supplier.

I've become a proponent of online shopping over the past 5 years I've been online. So when I got an email offering a special discount to CarParts.com, I was interested. I needed new bushings for the lower control arms of my beloved 1993 Saturn SL2, so I logged onto CarParts' website and found them. I placed the order and waited.
...and waited...
...and waited...
I'd received an email telling me that the order was expected to ship within a week of placing the order, so I was highly peeved that it was taking so long. Besides, AutoZone could have them to me in 3 days if I ordered them at the store and they were just a couple dollars more expensive.
Weeks later, after my credit card was billed and I still had no parts, I was fed up with waiting and called the customer "service" line. I was connected with a woman that had no idea what bushings were and she said that they'd cancel my order and refund the money. Great...no problem, right?
Wrong. Two months later, there had been NO credit refunded to my card and still no parts. By this time, I didn't need them since I'd gotten them from my local AutoZone.
Back on the phone with customer "service". Another person this time. She told me the same thing that the last one told me...refund and canceled order. She had NO RECORD of my previous call even being made.
In the meantime, the parts showed up AND the refund was made to my card. New set of problems now.
I called the customer service...AGAIN. This time I asked for the highest-ranking person there. I got a supervisor. I told him what had happened. He told me they'd undergone a computer system changeover and that might explain the lack of a record for my first call. Whatever.
As for the parts, I requested a return label. The Supervisor was so embarrassed about the whole ordeal that he told me to just keep the parts (they were worth about $15) and he'd even credit me an extra $15 for all of my troubles.
So, the gist is, I was aggravated and made $15.
Avoid CarParts.com if you can...try AutoZone.com instead. You can even order the parts online and pick them up at your local store already ready to go. I've done that and it's great.
