The Bottom Line Woo-hoo! I'm finally participating in a w/o! Go *Broomy*!

O is for the only one I see,
V is very very extraordinary,
E is even more than...
oh crapnuggets, I always forget this one!!!

Since Stairway2Drew is so f*cking awesome, he created this neat-o (oh God, there go my dork mechanisms going into full overdrive!) little write-off, which an attention-hungry potato such as myself simply has to participate in!!! Go me!!!

FIVE ALBUMS *BROOMY* WOULD MARRY IF SHE COULD:

1. Janet Jackson - Rhythm Nation 1814 - I love all of Janet's work, but this one is the most thought-provoking, which is why I put it on my list. I like how she talked about a lot of the problems we have in our society today without being too preachy and still making great music for you to dance to. Janet is one of my all-time favorite artists, and this is an album I grew up on, so there's no way I couldn't include this.

2. Michelle Branch - The Spirit Room - I don't know what else to say about this record other than I simply love it. It's so weird that a seventeen-year-old can write music with as much depth as Michelle does. Her songs are radio-friendly, but they also convey a message, and it's far from the bubblegum I was shamefully expecting when I picked this record up. Very rarely do you stumble across a young female artist with as much talent and as much promise as Michelle Branch, which is why I put her on my list.

3. Evanescence - Fallen - I know some people are gonna be retarded and say that I'm just jumping on the bandwagon or whatever, but I don't really care. Fallen is a genuinely great record. The lyrics sound like they come from a very deep place and Amy Lee wrenches every last drop of emotion out of them with her startling voice. It's rock music with a classy, pulled-together sound and its lyrics actually send a message without all of the screaming and yelling that has pushed me away from this harder genre in the past.

4. Alicia Keys - Songs In A Minor - I can't wait for Alicia's new record, so I've been listening to this one furiously over the last couple months in preparation. I have a feeling she's gonna be a one-hit wonder, but I don't care because at least she made some great music. Her debut album has some of the most soulful music we've heard from a new artist in a long while and makes me think that maybe there is hope out there in the music world. This was the first album that I bought with my own money, and I haven't stopped loving it ever since.

5. Madonna - The Immaculate Collection - Aside from being my favorite record of all time, I think this is an essential for every music fan. Even if you don't like her music or have lost a certain level of respect for her, as I have, you can't deny the fact that Madonna is one of the most innovative and powerful figures in the entertainment industry, and this first collection of hits proves it. It's really weird to listen to songs like "Material Girl" and "Like A Virgin", then see her making out with Britney Spears on MTV. Isn't it strange how someone can sell out so quickly?

FIVE SONGS THAT *BROOMY* GETS HER FREAK ON TO:

1. Wham! "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" - This is definitely my all-time favorite song. It is literally impossible for me to hear this cut without jumping out of my seat and dancing and singing along (trust me, it has happened!). Could this song be any more bubbly and infectious? Sometimes you need something as sweet and nonsensical as this to bring you back down to earth. I don't know. Maybe I just have no shame.

2. Edwin McCain "I'll Be" - I love this song simply for its raw emotion and the fact that Edwin just puts it all out there and sings from the heart. It's simple and sweet and is another one that forces me to scream its sappy lyrics at the top of my lungs. This is about as close as I'm ever gonna come to liking country music, so I figured I would just take this song and run with it.

3. Mariah Carey "Without You" - This is by far Mariah's best cover and her best song ever. As with the above song, emotion is the key to delivering a great ballad, and there's more than enough to go around on this one. Mariah doesn't oversing this one, which is a rarity for her, but she still puts her signature on it. It's so simple and stylistic that I was drawn to it immediately while listening to the Music Box album. It's just so beautiful and emotive.

4. Stephen Lynch "Special Fred" - Yes, I make fun of retarded people, and no, I don't feel bad about it, so any song that can relate the same sentiments is a keeper for me. Stephen Lynch is a comedian who's probably unknown to those of you who don't watch Comedy Central, but he makes some funny-a$$ songs about every politically incorrect thing you can think of. Oddly enough, one of my Muslim friends turned me on to him, and this ode to a "special" friend has been one of my favorite songs ever since.

5. Mary J. Blige "Real Love" - MJB is one of my favorite artists of all time, and her debut single is my favorite song of hers. It's catchy and soulful and sounds totally up-to-date even a decade after its release. I love the melody and the production especially and find this cut altogether perfect. It's a great reminder of what R&B sounded like back in the good old days. It's one of my favorite feel-good, summery songs.

FIVE AUTHORS *BROOMY* WOULD SHARE HER BELOVED PEANUT BUTTER WITH:

1. Since I first started reviewing on this site, pt-paratroopa has been in my corner. He has probably been my most faithful reader on Epinions and writes some stellar reviews of his own. Though his reviews tend to be a bit sporadic, they're written in a really fun, easy-to-read fashion. PT seems like a really fun dude, one I'd like to get to know someday. His way with words makes me laugh every time I read one of his reviews (but sorry man, that Alanis haiku - what were you thinking?!).

2. Another great Epinions buddy o' mine has been insomniac1587. His reviews are informative and detailed, yet still humorous. I like how he remains unapologetic about his tastes in music, which is something I think we need more of in this world (but, I'm sorry, there's just no excuse for all of you Britney fans out there). insomniac1587 is the man, quite honestly. I'm sure he's gonna be one of Epinions' most prevalent authors in the next year or so.

3. Not only is cletta1201 one of the best hip-hop/R&B authors on this site, she has great taste in music. Her reviews are brief, straight-to-the-point, and brutally honest. You won't read much bullsh*t from Cletta, which is what I love most about her. I've admired her style since I first started and she remains one of my favorite authors ever. I anticipate any and all of her upcoming reviews and have always seriously considered her opinions in my shopping decisions. I find her to be one of the most trustworthy authors on Epinions.

4. How could I not include caffienatedyak, seemingly everybody's best friend, on this list? Not only is he a gay man - if you read my little 20 facts thingy, you'd know how passionately I feel about them - but he's also a shameless Mariah Carey devotee. What isn't there to love about a guy who'll actually admit that he loves Mariah? Sexual and musical preferences aside, this guy does write some damn good reviews and has been another one of my good friends on Epinions.

5. Of course, what would a favorite authors list be without kristinafh? She's loved by everyone, and, for once, that's not a bad thing. Her reviews are cheeky and spunky while still being very informative and decisive. She's a true Renaissance woman, writing about everything from music to movies to beauty care. She's pretty much the embodiment of everything a great reviewer needs. Most importantly, Kristina seems like she has a lot of personality and would be fun to be around. In my opinion, she is the best reviewer on this site (even if her "N Sync obsession scares the crap out of me).

So there you have - my feeble attempt at positivity. Now I must go watch over my lovingly french friend children. Until I next time, I remain your faithful Potato God and always, the one and only *Broomy*.
