The Bottom Line Please! Please!! Read my stuff!! ----- read update on bottom of page as well.

Hmmm..... The Second Chance Write Off? The purpose of this write-off is to illuminate, to other readers, essays and postings that you believe have not been loved enough by the Epinions public at large. Some of the writers here complain (well, not really complain, but you get my drift.......) that some of their older reviews have only gotten about ten or so ratings.

I could easily give you many reviews that have been unloved. Mind you, part of the reason that the reviews have been unloved is a fault on my part. Then, as now, I was pretty lazy with reading and rating other people’s work, which meant that I didn’t promote myself very well, which in turn means that nobody went back to read my work. Another part of the reason was that there was a gap in between my first few reviews, in the summer of 2000, and later on in the fall of 2000. My first review for the film Showgirls actually received more than 20 ratings, but many reviews for the next year after that only received less than 10.

Even now, I usually only get between thirty and forty ratings, which isn’t really a whole lot compared to other writers who have written many postings, and who are either Top Reviewers or Advisors. Yet, I’m not particularly upset.... unlike some writers, perhaps, I know my failings as an Epinions member. I know that I haven’t been the greatest member in terms of reading, rating, and commenting. So I really have no complaints with the few people that follow my writing.... they are obviously crazy enough to enjoy my material, and for that, I am grateful.

But the point of this write-off is for people to be aware of material that I wish was better read, that I wish could get a Second Chance. Well, I could pick one of my many movie reviews that haven’t been rated all that well..... but I won’t. Seriously, why would someone be so eager to shoot back to one of my product reviews? A bland review of a moldy motion picture isn’t exactly riveting literature. Well, not usually, anyway. I would rather give you some links to some more important works........ I’ve posted a lot of stories on Writer’s Corner. Some of these stories are painfully lengthy, but at the same time, I think that they ought to have been read a few more times than they have been.

My lowest rated story was the no-name story. I couldn’t develop a title, but the story itself isn’t too bad. It’s a story about a kid who tricycles around town, and finds himself lost.........

The other three stories have had a few more ratings, but I like them so much that I think you should read them! All of these stories are in multiple parts, and are pretty racy (just ask Sue, Jan, Karen and all the others who were shocked and appalled........), which is why I want everybody else to read them and be equally offended...........

Love and Other Nightmares

So I hope that you’ll satisfy my fragile, wounded ego and give these masterpieces the second chance that they so deserve........ Enjoy!

Update #1: trust12345 has pointed out something that I am well aware of, but was too lazy to address beforehand.

His comment mentions how the paragraphs in my stories, unlike my other postings, were not seperated. This is true, and I know this. My problem is that when I write the stories, for some reason I don't think of seperating the paragraphs. On the Word Processor, the stories look fine, but on Epinions, they do not, because the editor does not recognize tabs or any of that other stuff.

Also, for some reason, if I were to use the Format menu on the Word Processor to seperate the paragraphs, then copy and paste on to the Epinions editor, the editor does not recognize the seperation between paragraphs -- I would have had to do the seperation of the paragraphs manually, with the return key, and I am too lazy to sit there for an hour to go through a 50 page document.

However, this afternoon I was finally bright enough to save one of my story files as an HTML, and then copy the html file, complete with the codes signifying line breaks and the like. So now, the story, simply titled Untitled Sexy Romance Story, is in a much more readable format! I hope to fix up the other stories later. Enjoy!

Update #2: I tried to fix up Love and Other Nightmares, but the html got a bit screwy on the final two parts. Not enough to totally destroy the story, but there's a few weird gaps in the text.........
