I also have a huge scar from lung surgery after a drunk hit me head on years ago, plus the holes they made to put in tubes to drain infection. 2 c-sections, hysterectomy and gallbladder removed. I like the frankenstein's bride comment lol. My kids call me an alien :-(

I just came from the surgeons office AGAIN and have been having a pity party here. I was beginning to think I was the only one out there who was feeling this way.

I have now had 6 hernia repairs, one was to remove the mesh that my body had rejected and they had to manually repair it. Then I ended up in the hospital with a staph infection. THEN some nut from another state got hold of me and really fouled me up which resulted in them sewing up my belly button.

While I'm not a proud owner of my scarred up belly, it does help me to know there are others out there. And yes I have another hernia repair in my near future. Morphine drip and all. Sigh.

Good luck on your club!

I've never had to stay in a hospital for any length of time but , alas, as I prepare to turn 40 this year I suspect I may have a hernia!!!

Might need an application next week!

Hope all is well.

Cheers from Boston - Spring is coming!

...But I don't have any physical scars... Would an irreparably broken heart suffice?

[I found it in a parking lot while I rollerblading home from Trader Joe's a day or two ago. Best be sure, this busted-up, breast-beatin' bad-boy's better blood-pumpin' days are behind it.]

I have a scar right above my belly button and 2 more to the right of it, plus one under the middle of my breasts. All of these scars come from having my gallbladder out 2 years ago. I really like the one that was made by the drainage tube as that one healed kinda of bumpy looking. Thankfully, my husband still finds me sexy, scars and all :-)

Scars! What a great idea for a club. Well physical scars--I've got a whopper of a scar encircling half of my scalp from a brain operation I had at age 13. I have a C-Section scar as well. My legs are covered with scars from being an evil tomboy and there are numerous small, round scars on my hands and arms from the amount of IV's I had while recuping from that brain scenario.

Grannie, I look like the Bride of Frankenstein! LOL!!

Carol!

I have a sterotactic next Friday.... did it hurt?

Hey Virginia.. had a spinal tap last weekend, forgot to mention the appendectomy from a years ago...

But, the tap didn't leave a scar, just a puncture.. although I can't see it myself since I just can't bend that way.. LOL

Bad Bob - Well, thank you, Bob. (blush) You are pretty great yourself. Tell me, why did you delete your last two hilarious articles. I hope that doesn't mean that you have quit writing them.
Laughter is the best cure for anything, and you have made so many of us start our mornings with a big "belly" laugh.

You certainly have the required scars to be either a Scarbelly or a Scarbody. I am adding your name, and I thank you for the comment.

I HOPE I won't have any more scars and was sad to hear about yours :-(

I do have one on my belly from a appendectomy but that was MANY, MANY years ago!. It does however stick in my mind because it was one of the first "bikini" cuts they made and since it was a teaching hospital, ALL of the young interns had to come and check out the tiny scar ~ a HORRIBLE ordeal for a 13 year old girl!!!

I do have a 10 inch one from my back that ALMOST reaches my belly (and 5 more on my back) all from my kidney disease ~ would they count?? LOL

Just hoping to NEVER have another one and I pray you don't either!

"(Uh - what is a sneetch?)"

Me! Me!! Pick me!!! *raises her hand*

I know what a Sneetch is, Virginia! Sneetches are those little things that live in Dr. Seuss books. My guess is that Brian's been playing the Star-Belly Sneetch game:

http://www.seussville.com/seussville/games/sneetches/game.html

Now *I* had to do some online research to find that, but I'll bet it's one of Brian's favorite pastimes. Of course, they're STAR-Belly Sneetches, not SCAR-Belly... so maybe I'm just old & confused. :oP

(Brian, help us out, wouldja?)

My cat, Tom, always wants to "knead" my stomach for some reason and it drives me crazy. After many lap removal's, he's now UNWILLING to settle for sitting beside me and kneading the chair. IT makes me feel guilty but I can live with it! :) Dusty

I've an old scar on my belly from an emergency appendectomy when I was 25, (and they never have elective appendectomies, do they?) I've got a plastic-fiber ligament in my right knee that squeaks in very cold weather,I had an angiogram several months ago, and we won't talk about where that left a scar, and I recently had major oral surgery. Count me in! :) Glad to see you back and doing well, Virginia. :)

Katiegut - Don't you dare think of a place for us to demonstrate our scars. Scar showing should only be on a personal and intimate level. :) My nekkid body might be a deterrent to any alien who hopes to enter and take over Earth. Anyway, thank you Katiekay - and I am looking forward to news of your upcoming wedding. What a great couple the two of you will make.

Jo - I have signed you up. You are eligible indeed. My appendicitus scar came for me at age seven (almost eight), and it is a wierd looking scar. About an inch wide and and three iches long. They gave me the appendics in a little jar of preservative - which I treasured as a kid for as long as my mother let me keep it. I seem to remember a long hospital stay also - in 1929 they did things differently then they do now.
