That is indeed strange! He might not like horror, though.

Great Choices (Reply to this comment)

I absolutely loved the American Werewolf in London. My British son-in-law, though, walked out on it. Funny - because he really has a great sense of humor.

True, Carnival isn't terribly scary, but ominous and disturbing. Yeah, my list was more balanced with old and new. :-)

Glad to hear you liked that movie too. I stayed in my seat, though, hahaha!

Oh so glad you mentioned Event Horizon! The list is good, but I must say, I have never been so scared as when I saw the above movie! It was the scariest movie I have ever seen in my life. I actually saw it in the movie theater and had to run out 2 or 3 different times 'cause I couldn't take it anymore. Thanks for the great list.
Cheers,
Thea

Well, I like some comedy with my horror a lot of times. Young Frankenstein could be a dark comedy too. They still are pretty unnerving movies.

Hey Don, I mentioned Bram Stoker's Dracula in the opening paragraph. There are lots of great classics not listed, but I went by decade and my favs. :-)

The Blob! (Reply to this comment)

This is the first "horror" movie I ever saw - late night TV at a sleepover - it scared the daylights out of me! Those cheesy 50's effects - wonderful. Nice list!

Horror Flicks? (Reply to this comment)

Interesting list, however, I consider An American Werewolf in London to be more of a dark comedy than a horror film. Sheila

Very nice list. I first saw "Young Frankenstein" at the age of 19 in 1976 at, of all places, a "Star Trek" convention. I thought I was going to die from laughter at the midnight showing of the film. Thanks for some good memories (though, my dear friend, Dracula, wonders how he could be missing from such a list...
