I did realise that there would be quite a few people around who would see the folly of these things - what I don't understand is how many of it came to be so popular! Thanks for the comment,

I've long since agreed with all of these points. It's very nice to hear them from a foreigner: they seem saner and less rebellious from you. Thanks for a fun piece.

It's certainly easy to see why you would think so many of these things perverse--or at least strange. I've been here all my life, and I still have the same reactions to much of this nonsense.

Well, you know, I might just have to take your advice and write about those things! Oh, they're not good things???? Well all the more reason ;)

See, it's just not as entertaining and interesting if I were to pat youse on the back for being so nifty and grand - it's more fun finding strange and annoying peculiarities than it is being all friendly and appreciative!

Nice try though ;)

I'll bet there'd be a lot of yanks who'd be in need of something like that too - all that running off at the mouth must be to compensate for something!

Thanks, Sue! We'll see whether I can churn many more out - I might run out of ideas eventually!

Yes, that is a very silly way to use aspirin - I am really hoping that it wasn't you who wasted the money!

And as far as getting a talk show of my own goes, that would be rather hypocritical since those self-indulgent snorefests really annoy me, so I think I'd rather keep such a thing to myself ;)

Cheers!

You just have to keep doing them!

Okay, first the convenience at any cost thing: Buying 2 aspirin for $5 at a convenience store when you could walk a block more to the grocery store and buy a whole bottle for less than that.

Next:

these shows are about as realistic as if I were to suddenly sprout another head out of my neck.

Now, if you were to actually accomplish this feat, you could have a reality show all your own, and probably a talk show as well, where you sympathize with and counsel others with a second head sprouting from their neck. Think of the career possibilities! ;)
