The Bottom Line Written to one I loved very much. An old love song inspired the thought. "Time waits for no one." If you remember, then you'll understand.
DREAM STREAM I hate the way the stream of life Keeps racing toward the sea; No longer does it have the flow That carried you and me. Remember how you took my hand, (We were quite naive then) And pulled me in so recklessly? But that was way-back-when. We splashed, we plunged, we had such fun; We laughed and loved and learned. And yet, one day, we found a spot Where our great river turned. One dark day, you swam away; And I stood on the shore Because the waters were too swift To play in, anymore. Now I stroll along those banks And fish along the stream, And pray, before I reach that sea, I'll catch you - in a dream. Lorace (c)2003 |
