I bought this phone because my other phone wouldn't hold a charge and you could only talk for about 20 minutes before it would give out. This phone is suppose to have a battery life of about five hours of talk time and about seven days of standby time. That should be enough to even satisfy my wife. So far it has, although I think the longest she has talked on it was about 45 min. You can know for sure when using it, as it tells you how long you've been talking. A nice feature if your on long distance.
My other phone would start getting static when I went outside with it. This one doesn't. I have walked all the way to our back gate with it and it still had a clear signal.
The base and hand handsets have a large screen on them that's well lit along with the push buttons when you activate the phone. The base also has push buttons and with the speaker phone feature, you don't need the handset to talk on it. The screen not only tells you the number of calls waiting for you, It has caller ID and call waiting. It also displays the date and time. When you have a message, the screen on the base not only lights up, but so does a light on the handsets. They will stay lit until you check your messages or answer your phone.
This phone will allow you to add up to 10 handsets and will hold up to 100 names and two numbers per name. Great for those that also have cell phones or putting in their work phone number. Another great feature it has, is that you can take any number that calls you and not only add it to the phone book from the base, but you can add it to all the other handsets from any phone in the house. Or add it to just those handsets you want it on.
Each handset has a microphone in the back so you can talk or listen on open speaker. You can also use it to monitor any other phone in the house. You only need to tell it which one you want to monitor. Each phone is numbered, although you can give them names instead. Great for monitoring the baby's room.
Your also able to page each phone if you want to speak to someone in another room. When talking on the phone, you can keep others from listening in on the conversation from another handset.
The base has a single ring tone, but you can have up to 10 different ring tones on any of the handsets. You can give those that call often their own special ring tone which is a very nice feature.
This phone also will allow up to four people to join in on a conference call. You can also transfer a call to another handset, put them on hold and even call another handset.
It's a snap to add more handsets. You need only to set it on the base for a couple of seconds and it will recognise it and give it a number.
I know there are several other features to this phone I have forgotten, there are so many. But it's a great phone, that is very clear and have been told my voice comes over clear too. You can adjust the volume to several different settings.
