Overall I find that their website could be better. For the price they are charging, I can understand the need to keep costs low, but it would be nice to have more different angles for viewing the fames.
The titanium pair I ordered were filled correctly and fit my face perfectly. Of course, I used the size specifications off my prior pair of glasses I bought locally and compared them to the glasses on the website. I did not notice the spring/hinge design on the bows when I was ordering them, but I find it a wonderful design without any screws to lose. I don't like the upside down screws holding in the lenses, but they seem to be industry norm.
The glasses were received in two weeks after I ordered them in a First Class Mail bubble wrap envelope, with a hard plastic case, inside a plastic 2"x6" plastic zippered bag, wrapped in a micro fiber cloth with zenni design. A 1"x2" piece of blue paper with handwritten invoice number (illegible) was the only paper inside the package and was inside the plastic bag. I was happy with the packaging of the glasses, with the micro fiber cloth a nice touch to prevent any scratches on the lenses.
Complaints are that they don't include an 'invoice' showing you your selections/prescriptions or the amount charged or a number to contact with problems. The only indications of where it came from are the Stamps.com label on the outside of the package and the zenniOptical.com logo on the microfiber cloth and small blue snip of paper giving the invoice number. The cost to include a paper invoice shouldn't be a big factor, but the extra calls for 'assistance' might be since some people may just not bother tracking down the contact number and give up on calling.
After reading all the 'optician' warnings about this place, I was quite impressed with the glasses themselves. The frames are actually more 'substantial' than my prior pair, the hinges appear to be of a better design. The hinges on my prior pair had a total of 3 screws per side that had a tendency to work loose. I can't see how this pair would have any possibility of coming apart as there is NO screws, just fancily twisted wire.
The new pair is lighter than my prior pair, with the lenses appearing to be thinner. This may be because the height of the lenses are a few millimeters shorter than my prior pair (intentionally ordered as such). The nose pieces are made from one piece of wire going from the left nose piece, up to the lens and then forming the bridge connecting the other lense and down to the right nose pad. The nose pads do have screws holding them in place where my prior pair did not, but hopefully this will prevent the nose pads from 'popping off' as they did on my Cerruti 1881 pair. In all I count 4 screws, compared to 8 on my old pair. Less screws means less lost screws in my oppinion.
